Thanks to @Lane for opening and tagging me. *hug

Do you have a role model(s) that has shaped your life and how?
I'd probably have to say my best friend, A. He seems to have life figured out, and it's because he's identified the things that matter in life, and the ones that really don't. He refuses to engage with the things that don't, and it's made his life all the better for it. the more time we spend as friends, the more i come to appreciate the wisdom in that, and seek to do the same.

My dad. Looking back, he did his best with a bad situation and ensured that I came out of it okay. He was tough when he needed to be and he was there when I needed him, as much as he could be. I miss the old man.

And when I see how my life is turning out as i slowly get it together, i see his influence on me. He was a special ed teacher, i work with kids with ASD. I play guitar like he did, ive started noticing more of my mannerisms and little things i picked up from him like bits of his accent with certain words and phrases.
He sounded like a very good guy @blue dream. Good on you for getting your life back together, it's a slow process but worth it I'm sure.

Also, welcome to SF. I hope you get what you need here. It's a place where you can express yourself in a non judgemental environment among friendly and supportive people.

Probably thich Nhat Hanh, Maria Callas, Wayne Thiebaud, and my Grandma. There are a few others, too, like Woodstock (as in Snoopyโ€™s tiny friend).

@Lane thank you for your strength and kindness.

For me it would be my mom, and his parents, my grandparents they instilled in me the core values I carry. Between the skills and knowledge they all gave me I love the idea of simply live and let live for others. Listen to other opinions and decide if they are right for me or not but never lose sight of my way may not be the right one for others and they have the right to have their peace and whatever they like have no need of hassles from others. It was a mix over really old fashioned but accepting that new ways are right for others.

When all the adults let you down as a child it ruins a lot of this. There is no one. That said there are a few people I can remember who took the time with me I needed, when it comes to being a parent, friend or person in general I thought of the qualities I wanted myself. They really aren't based off any one person, mostly my actions and how I need to change them.
