@Auri the internet is an incredible invention and it contains information, movies, music, cartoon, email service etc. But it also contains some odd stuffs. So can it still be called incredible? *hug
Nothing is ever perfect, or to be more accurate, everything can be misused/abused by people. But all the knowledge it contains at a simple click far exceeds its bad points in my opinion. ;) Yes, I think it's an incredible invention, as much as books for example. :)

Edit : Knowledge, but also all the possibilities, like the speed of the flow of information, the connection with people on the other side of the planet, etc. :)

In 40 years, what will people be nostalgic for? Oh no I don't even wanna think abt it

What used to be considered trashy but now is very classy? Red lipstick

What is the most embarrassing thing you have ever worn? I wore floral pants but I still think they look good. However I stopped wearing them as I was getting too many stares and catcalls

In one sentence, how would you sum up the internet? Just my way to chill

What is the weirdest thing you have seen in someone else’s home? I haven't really seen unusual stuff

What would be the worst thing for the government to make illegal? Oh dear, I could write a whole essay on this. There are still places in the world that any form of happiness is illegal and you couldn't even imagine.

@extraterrestrialone yes I promise that I will not tell anyone .So what did you wear? Let me guess , lol - a dress?
Hey, i am reconsidering being so willing to answer... first i need to understand what the meaning of ā€œembarrassingā€ is. because i think that if it is something i put on by choice, i would not be embarrassed. but not knowing my own feelings and the peculiar things that have gone on in my mind over the years especially back then, i am not sure if i was or not.

now as a clever diversion from answering the question: i have to admit i did wear a pink quiana shirt in the 1970s i think, or was that 80s? that’s embarrassing and, i also wore a christmas present sweater. also, i was the first one to wear a particular style jacket in the 80s, which became extremely popular shortly after - that kind of spoiled the jacket for me to the point i had to stop wearing it. ok, you asked specifically if it was a dress! nope!

but for the item in question, i was laughed at as a result and someone even said ā€œdan will never live that downā€! strangely i apparently did live it down, whatever that means. so if i get 3 more guesses here from 3 different people and one or more answers are right, i’ll admit it. its simply too embarrassing to just come out and say it. 🤢😱🄓

  1. Research has found that good relationships are more important to a long life than exercise. (I guess I'm not living long then. I'm glad of that. )
  2. Your brain does more creative work when you’re tired. (Hmm..did not know that..makes sense..maybe for art I'll try it out)
  3. Falling in love has a similar neurological effect as getting high on cocaine. ( oh...ok)
  4. The placebo effect is getting more powerful over time. As medical technology improves, our faith in medicine becomes stronger. (Hmm I never considered this..)
  5. Volunteers are significantly more satisfied with their lives than non-volunteers. ( well, I volunteer so maybe that helps me...)
@Champagne @pooky Thank You guys for tagging me. What are you doing today? *hug

What used to be considered trashy but now is very classy?
(I don't remember but I think Lobster was once meant for poor people, and now its a fancy thing?
( lol I don't know much about classy stuff)

What is the most embarrassing thing you have ever worn?
( makeup...I'm not used to it but I'm working on it..I want to wear makeup too..)

In one sentence, how would you sum up the internet?
( my lifeline personally... )

What is the weirdest thing you have seen in someone else’s home?
(Hmmmm.. I haven't been to many peoples homes, and also not since highschool.. Plus I don't really think anything is weird lol so i dunno)

What would be the worst thing for the government to make illegal?
( I don't know about worst, but the aforementioned things in this country that we currently have.. Would love to keep.)

Yo CafƩ peeps,

I'll be working from home as per usual (am right now *shh) and then cleaning my apartment tonight... fun ... and then adding more to my short story I started. @Champagne *stars for no anxiety.

Psychology facts everyone needs to know šŸ‘ What do you think of them?
  1. Research has found that good relationships are more important to a long life than exercise. Interesting and believable. People underestimate how important connections are. I wonder, do they mean all relationships (Friendships, family, etc) or just partnerships?
  2. Your brain does more creative work when you’re tired. EH. Really? I think they mean more abstract, abstract as in unclear and hazy.
  3. Falling in love has a similar neurological effect as getting high on cocaine. Heh, love addiction is no joke.
  4. The placebo effect is getting more powerful over time. As medical technology improves, our faith in medicine becomes stronger. Believable. But I think there's too much faith in it.
  5. Volunteers are significantly more satisfied with their lives than non-volunteers. Hmm... I'd like to see the study for this, although I do believe altruism can bring fulfillment and purpose.

In 40 years, what will people be nostalgic for? As they are now, in person connections and activities. I think people will only become more isolated due to technology especially with covid exposing the fact that so much work can be done from home. And possibly driving.

What used to be considered trashy but now is very classy? Make up and skin tight clothes. I noticed feminine things in general are becoming more ..em bougy (?) (I can't find the right word in my thought dictionary atm) and I'm not mad about it. But I do wish it wasn't expected.

What is the most embarrassing thing you have ever worn? Haha...ha. All one needs to do is scour past photo albums from when I was a teen going through puberty, but that's only because my current outfits are rarely documented. Currently, everything I wear is embarrassing. Right now I have on a summer dress with panda slippers. Why not?

In one sentence, how would you sum up the internet? a chaotic hurricane of live streaming internal thought and word vomit that otherwise would never see the light of day; but on rare occasions produces gems.

Human putty?

an information incubator, a lie machine?

What is the weirdest thing you have seen in someone else’s home? Porcelain dolls everywhere.

What would be the worst thing for the government to make illegal? Aging? Jk.. if we're talking first world problems; caffeine.

What is the most embarrassing thing you have ever worn?
Someone else's trousers. Luckily they weren't wearing it at the time.

In one sentence, how would you sum up the internet?
Incredible invention, but misused right up to the piss holes

What is the weirdest thing you have seen in someone else’s home?
Pickling jar with an embalmed finger floating inside.

What would be the worst thing for the government to make illegal?

Tysm for tagging me @Champagne & for opening the cafe :) Those were interesting psychology facts, a LOT of people have recommended I do volunteer work so that one especially was very interesting to me. I am seriously considering acting on those recommendations now.

It's pretty rainy here right now so I'm not really up to much of anything much today. Was gonna be going for a bike ride w/ my friend but now we are gonna do that tomorrow if it's hopefully not raining. Glad you are having a good day and not feeling anxious, I hope it lasts for you too! :) I'm pretty good today overall, tired for some reason but maybe that's just the rain dampening my spirits or something lol :p

In terms of the q's I think they are great & interesting as always. I kinda really only have any kind of answer at all for the first one sorry lol, the rest I am just not very sure. Here's my kinda-sorta answer to the first one anyway. :p

In 40 years, what will people be nostalgic for?
Really hard to say cos just not sure what the world will be like to live in in 40 years. Depends so heavily on what becomes a scarcity compared with today. Could be anything from eggs, chocolate, coffee, gold, being able to own movies as opposed to having to pay for them every bloody time you want to watch them, light bulbs, really is hard to say. Anything could be a potential answer for this basically. Sorry if this is a boring or too detailed answer lol :p

Normalcy.

What is the most embarrassing thing you have ever worn?

I’d liken the relationship between humanity and the Internet with that of the Faceless Men and the Many-Faced God from Game of Thrones.

What is the weirdest thing you have seen in someone else’s home?

A peace and order that could only be attained with the absence of people.

What would be the worst thing for the government to make illegal?

Research has found that good relationships are more important to a long life than exercise.
loving someone in a relationship IMO is the most important thing in life, without love
we have nothing.

Your brain does more creative work when you’re tired.
I agree, some of my best work was done while asleep
or tired.

Falling in love has a similar neurological effect as getting high on cocaine.
I've done both and do not agree

The placebo effect is getting more powerful over time. As medical technology improves, our faith in medicine becomes stronger.
I have no viewpoint

Volunteers are significantly more satisfied with their lives than non-volunteers.

you a feeling of doing something great for others

In 40 years, what will people be nostalgic for?
Interacting with Artificial intelligence

What used to be considered trashy but now is very classy?
woman wearing pants, Jazz music, back in the day it was
associated with drinking and drugs but now it's one
of the most beautiful sounds of music there is, converse
shoes, also known as chucks, in 60's/70's they cost around
2 bucks and now they are pretty pricey at 60 bucks a pair.

ripped jeans were once considered trashy and only poor
people wore them.

What is the most embarrassing thing you have ever worn?
bell bottom jeans and a disco shirt ( early 70's )

In one sentence, how would you sum up the internet?
The Internet is an ocean of information, immensely deep
but bafflingly shallow, teeming with value but swamped
by inanity, and a near complete waste of time as I watch
a mechanical second hand sweep along.

What is the weirdest thing you have seen in someone else’s home?
A pet diamond back rattlesnake

What would be the worst thing for the government to make illegal?
our guns...

Entertaining

What is the weirdest thing you have seen in someone else’s home?

In 40 years, what will people be nostalgic for? Hopefully I will long in the cold, cold ground by then.

What used to be considered trashy but now is very classy? Just about everything goes that direction in a society where almost no judgement in allowed.

What is the most embarrassing thing you have ever worn? Nothing at all, imagine a nekkid Uncle Fester. :)

In one sentence, how would you sum up the internet? Interesting. That can be used as good or bad depending on the situation.

What is the weirdest thing you have seen in someone else’s home? A working guillotine, saw that one recently.

What would be the worst thing for the government to make illegal? Far too many things to name just one, but I am Libertarian so I believe that unless someone is harming another or hindering another they should be allowed to do whatever they want, but they are responsible for their actions. But government at all levels are the same they either hinder or ignore all but a select elite few.

In 40 years, what will people be nostalgic for?
Electricity
What used to be considered trashy but now is very classy?
Seafood. It was considered food for the poor. The nobility and other la-dee-da types never went near it.
What is the most embarrassing thing you have ever worn?
For some reason, I went through a phase in my late teens wearing a black military style officers hat, and long, black ankle length coats and boots. I walked around looking like an extra that wandered off the set of an old war movie:D
In one sentence, how would you sum up the internet?
People
What is the weirdest thing you have seen in someone else’s home?
A weird hookah that was as tall as me. It looked like something from another planet.
What would be the worst thing for the government to make illegal?
Extreme poverty and homelessness. In some places, it already is. People get put in jail for having no place to live.

It would be great if instead it was illegal to cause extreme poverty or homelessness, wouldn't it?
But hey ho, for some reason we live in a world where it's considered logical to punish the monkey and let the organ grinder go.

I am just working today, 10 hours, and then coming home to a beer and a little bit of whiskey while bullshitting with a friend. Tater Tot casserole for dinner.

Electronic gadgets. People will have a chip implanted and all media will be sent directly into their brain.

What used to be considered trashy but now is very classy?
Shirts that show cleavage.

What is the most embarrassing thing you have ever worn?
Growing up in the church I was raised in we were not allowed to wear belts. Suspenders is the most embarrassing thing I have ever worn.

In one sentence, how would you sum up the internet?
A book I read talks about "The great harlot who sits on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication." I do believe the web can be used for good or used for evil.

What is the weirdest thing you have seen in someone else’s home?
A mounted bear; the whole thing.

Freedom of speech.

I was about to reply this morning when the forums went all pear shaped, then I had to go to work. Now in the harsh darkness of evening, what I was going to say then seems kind of meh. Suffice to say, I agree:)
