Merry Christmas Everyone! Or whatever you celebrate or don't. It's a merry day for some, a tough day for others, for others it's just another day.

I was going to be alone with my cats but am getting together with my sister for the afternoon. I once spent a Christmas by myself watching a movie about a failed marriage and people getting fired (supposed to be a comedy) and afterwards swore I'd never go to another movie on Christmas Day. Although I would like to see the new james Bond movie and a remake of West Side Story. After that I refuse to be alone on christmas although I will have to travel an hour to get to my sister's house.

Still sick, lol, but mainly I just feel shitty waking up. Should hopefully be relatively okay in another hour or so. Thought it would just be me and my brother, but looks like we're going to my mom's...granted, I wanted to drop off her card, but not stick around that long lol. Dont get me wrong, I love her and everything, but I've spent too many years in that house...to the point that it just kind of makes me feel miserable these days. But i guess I'll bring my schoolwork and act like I'm busy lol.

1. Mainly horror.
2. All I have is Prime right now, but used to have them all...and for free, for that matter. I was a crafty motherfucker while broke.
3. The last Halloween movie...but that's not til next year.
4. Something regarding space and/or multiverses would be cool.

I love all genres, with exception of rom coms, and even there, there are exceptions. Forget Paris
(1995) is a riot.

2. Had Netflix ages ago, but I got tired of sifting through all the garbage. I still use the old school Netflix service, where you have a queue and get physical DVDs in the mail. This way I can pick and choose what films I'd like to see in advance.

3. The new West Side Story and the Coen brothers' Macbeth with Denzel Washington.

4. Either the villain or the comic sidekick. Leading roles are boring (and a lot of work lol...)

1. do you like movies and what genre do you like to watch?
I don't watch as many movies as some people, but I do enjoy them. My favorites are quirky or dark comedies.
2. Do you have a streaming service and which do you like the best (I have to get one)?
I occasionally use Tubi, which is free. I was subscribed to Netflix for a while. It's pretty good, but I just wasn't using it enough for it to be worth it, so I canceled after a few months. I did a student trial of Amazon Prime to watch All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur, but I rarely watched much else on there besides that and never paid for it after my trial.
3. What movies are you looking forward to seeing
In terms of new(-ish) movies, mostly just The French Dispatch. Wanted to go see it in a theater, but I forgot and ran out of time.
4 If you had to participate in a movie what role would you like?
I was an extra in a short film my friend made for college. That was fun (I'd just prefer if I was a little more visible in the final product.) I was also in a music video his class made, and I'm definitely visible in that one I think it'd be cool to be an extra in a Hollywood movie, just to be in there as a little Easter egg sort of.

I don't like most movies. After watching a movie, I'd have to think, "Hey, I'd watch that again some time" in order for it to be worth watching in the first place.

I think a good movie has a sincere artistic goal, and the makers of the movie love it enough to put the effort into making it a great film. Most movies seem to be just about making money, or shoving ideology or a product placement down your throat. I understand that often times now a movie maker will create the trailer first, and if there's a good response, then they'll go make a movie roughly based on that. Movies like that are almost guaranteed to be crap.

Jean de Floret and Manon of the Spring is a two-part movie series that is definitely worth watching, if you don't mind reading subtitles.

Hi @cymbele , thank you for opening the Café and tagging me. I'm glad you're not spending this day alone.

I celebrated yesterday on Christmas Eve, and it was more disastrous than I actually expected (I got too optimistic...). Today is the mental aftermath, and tomorrow is my mum's birthday... so that shouldn't go any better. x) I'm trying to think about next week which will be much more fun, with my friends and special friend. ♡

I don't watch as many movies any more for some reason, I think because they feel too long compared to tv shows or concerts (to watch), and I dislike stopping in the middle of one.

1. Do you like movies and what genre do you like to watch?
I like good movies. I love fantasy, SF and dramas the most, but in the end I'll love anything of great quality. Genres that have been tough for me so far are westerns, mafia films, french films (lol).

2. Do you have a streaming service and which do you like the best (I have to get one)?
I have none, but I'd probably take Netflix if I wanted to, it seems to be the most popular one.

3. What movies are you looking forward to seeing?
I had to check what's coming in the next years. Apart from the last Matrix film which I of course would like to see. So apparently there will be another Indiana Jones, I love those. :p Shrek 5, OMG!! The new Avatar and Downton Abbey films also spark my interest. Finally, I can't wait to hear more about the new LOTR project : The War of the Rohirrim.

4. If you had to participate in a movie what role would you like?
Perhaps a music supervisor. I love film music and the scenes playing in my head (memories, daydreaming, etc.) always have a soundtrack, so I might not be too bad at this.
EDIT : I seem to have misinterpreted the question. So I would be the super loyal best friend of the main character, the one completely in the background but who's actually essential to the hero and has a personality. :p
