Jim's "eclipse" cafe - Mon.Apr.8, 2024

Hey everyone, thought I'd open the cafe for today. The solar eclipse will be happening today in North America (parts of Canada, USA and Mexico) so I thought I'd make it part of the "theme" for today. I also have another "pick a pic" collage I put together that doesn't have anything to do with the eclipse (if you aren't interested in it, lol) so feel free to pick whichever pic is your "fave" from these 6 pics To those who will be viewing the eclipse today - please enjoy and also, stay safe! I'm not living in a part of the country/continent where there will be "totality" (path of totality, hilarious to me that it's initials spell out "pot" lol) but will still at least get to see a "partial" eclipse here.

I think 5 is my favorite pic. I love the ethereal and magical quality of it. I'm not sure if I'll be in the path of the eclipse or not, but I better remember to wear sunglasses.

It's very hard for me to pick a "fave" pic from those 6 pics there lol but I guess I pick 1 cos I love the colorful bunch of butterflies and just think it's really pretty.

Hoping it will be a clear day to see/enjoy the partial eclipse later today (ok, technically it's actually still the 7th here for about another 1 hr, 45 mins lol, just didn't want to be confusing saying anything about that in the main cafe post) and it will be cool to see it. Gonna watch the live coverage of it on the NASA yt channel too, should be good cos will be able to see how it looks as the "total" solar eclipse there which will be really neat

my son just took his GF down to TX to view. we wont see it fully from here obviously... i'll hopefully be asleep anyway.
I love otters so #6 however the mystic-ness (not a real word i know) of the night, time slipping through quickly and forest in #5 is my favorite.

As for the eclipse I'm not sure if I'll be seeing it in real life, I'll probably just watch a livestream on Youtube. lol

As for the collage, I choose number 1, 4, and 5!

My area will experience only 20-40% totality. Moreover, an additional shadow is cast by the cloudy forecast. As such, my hopes for viewing the eclipse are dim 😎

I heard about the eclipse we don't have it here in Ireland. Just pissing rain like usual ha. Enjoy the eclipse guys I guess but remember to be careful with eyes. All the best
