The Christmas festivities have already begun here, with my grandma insulting me on Saturday, my mom making sure I feel well hated today. *stars
I can't f*ing wait for tomorrow for the whole family to mock me all together. Or ignore me if they're generous on that special day.

Sorry... I'm really happy for everyone having a beautiful Christmas! I wish that for all of you, it's supposed to be a good time with the people we love. :) I'll have that in a few days too. ♡♡♡

On Wednesday I'm packing (well, 20 min of Wednesday), because I'm spending Thursday with a friend and celebrating a cozy New Year's Eve in advance with friends in the evening. Then in the middle of the night I have to go to the airport and fly to the UK!

If you're not celebrating the common way, you should treat yourselves with something nice and/or special. It can be for free, but take care of yourselves. *console And join us on SF of course, where you are loved.

I'm not traveling or doing anything fun because I'm boring, haha. But it looks like you are having a great time.

I am working tomorrow until 7, then going to have a few drinks and see Episode IX with some friends.

I will pick my son up on the 25th around noon, go home to open his gifts/stocking, and cobble together dinner. I am taking Thursday - Sunday off after Christmas and will have my son, so lots of fun stuff planned!🙂

Not a jolly story, but I planned to drive to the city very early this morning to get some nice foodie treats to cheer us up but husband was also up very early and went on a big whinge about money so I cancelled that. Youngest son said sod him, let's go shopping, I'll pay (eldest son has already said he's cooking the meal) and the three of us can enjoy the day and leave him to it. So I had a lovely morning with my youngest getting stuff for the Christmas dinner. Only thing is, I have family in this town and they have a big traditional get together on Christmas day at midday which is really awkward as it messes up the cooking times. I'm trying to think of an excuse not to go!

Up till today I was happy to let Christmas pass by but I'm looking forward to dinner anyway. It's not easy to celebrate when on person is a big black cloud but I'm glad to have time out and hopefully get time for painting and some lie ins. Once Boxing Day is over, I'll be over it all and looking to take down the tree!

More fool your grandma and mother for not appreciating a lovely person like you, Auri. *angry no Put up the barriers and don't let that **** in, that's their problem. Sorry you are having to deal with that nastiness. Hope you have a great trip to make up for it!

Not doing anything for Christmas except eating Trader Joe's scallion pancakes probably. But I am going to the pub bright and early on Boxing Day to watch the Spurs match. Thankfully we're the first match of the day so hopefully it won't be too crazy at that point.
Today I went to a restaurant to use one of my $10 off coupons. It was the same Mediterranean restaurant where I had dinner for my birthday. I got autumn squash risotto with a little bit of sourdough bread. Ended up being only about $4 (plus a tip) with the coupon. And it was really nice. I overslept and almost didn't get to go, but it all worked out. Then I went to Trader Joe's even though I still have some of the stuff I bought last time. Didn't get any meals this time, just some fruit leather, peanut butter cups, chocolate espresso beans (that I'm saving for Christmas Day), and a Cosmic Crisp apple. I bought the apple because I watched this video the other day:

Last night my friend and I hosted a Christmas cocktail party which was a lot of fun! But then one of my friends got into a car accident where someone drove her off the road!

Tomorrow all the family comes down to visit and celebrate. We made Christmas cookies tonight and the baking continues tomorrow. Low key very stressed about the holiday, but mostly just cause I’m stressed in general.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years folks!

I am feeling well enough to bake tomorrow. unfortunately or fortunately all the baked goods will be dispersed by Christmas evening. I will have to make some for me on Thursday if I still want them. I will probably be on SF if I don't make more stuff.

Tomorrow night after church all my siblings and most of their families will gather together for a get together and Yankee swap. Then Christmas Day I have to go to a friend's house where it will be quite crowded and I will be ignored most of the day. But I will be home early so I will be on SF then. I'm looking forward to Christmas Eve but not Christmas Day but I don't have any other place to go to where I will be with people so being ignored should suffice. Then I have the rest of the week off and I'm thinking of painting my room. All in all, it is only one Day after all.

Just joined, but haven't figured out how to start a thread or to post a message within a thread. Just wanted to vent about Christmas season blues. Most years I've coped well, but this year I'm not coping. When I was young I always could have hope that someday I'd have family or friends or someone who would care whether I live or die, and hope kept me going Now I'm old and there's no chance anyone will ever care whether I live or die. Resigning myself to this fact has made the Christmas season just torture this year. I feel like I lived far, far too long. I'm not feeling suicidal, but I wish the torture would end one way or another.

Ty for opening the cafe @Walker and also I know I already said it in the card I sent to you but guessing it hasn't reached you yet but anyway hope you have a very merry Christmas! :) Tagging @1964dodge @Acy @Ash600 @Aurelia @sinking_ship @Charliex8 @Charlene @Blue Star @Sonder

What are you up to? Nothing much just home alone & will be for the next couple days but I'm glad it will just be peaceful & quiet.

If you're doing Christmas things, are you done? No but pretty much.

Don't really have any kind of story I can think of but just wanted to say @typical pisces that I can relate to some of what you said about feeling like you've lived far too long and wanting the torture to end. I feel that way too even though my actual age is 35 I feel double that in terms of complete tiredness with the endless, infinite, disappointing misery that life seems to be.

I got her a barbie that has a little dog, cat and bunny with it, since she loves animals. Making lasagna and that's about it. Have to get egg not still.

Not traveling this holiday season. Just going to be me and my daughter.. who will be 14 tomorrow... she isn't letting me forget it lol. going to do our normal pj's for Christmas eve and then presents on Christmas morning as she will be waking me.. well hopefully normally I beat her up and then pretend to be asleep when she comes in. stupid things but they are what means the most to me. I will be here after Christmas celebrations for support as my brother is not here with me this year and it is starting to get to me and be real.

isn’t this an unusual time for a café? not that i’m complaining but... anyway i think any time is the best time so...

What are you up to?
what i’m up to now... what we were up to was celebrating my son’s birthday for which i made a tasty cheese cake. was (and still is - what’s left of it) pretty darn good - i must say!!!

Are you traveling or staying here with us on SF?
Yes! as a matter of fact - travelling (just a bit) which is something we rarely do we will be doing this time around and going out of state to celebrate at my niece’s place.

Tell me a story.
how about snippets. one christmas in the days when it still snowed, rain was predicted for christmas eve. and at that time in history the movie white christmas was often on tv or in the old movie rerun theaters. so it was popular to dream of a “white christmas” and is if our dreams actually come true, it snowed instead of rain. fairly deep and quick accumulation. it was fun being a kid at the moment outside in the snow. then another time it did rain - freezing rain and walking through it was quite hazardous because there was a thin sheet over everything. hmm, i used to specialize in making the wrapping look especially nice. that must have been another lifetime. it was certainly fun. somehow i think the wrapping is more important than the gift itself.... did i say??? i think i did, somewhere else here, that one christmas, i was snooping around in my parents room and found my christmas present. i was so excited that i didn’t even think of the upcoming holiday, i wanted it now!!!!. that was a traumatic experience... momentarily!!! what else??? every year we would watch A Christmas Carol (with Alistar Sim). if my memory is right they’d show it multiple times on that day, and we’d watch em all. we also went to see the nutcracker ballet every year (nice tradation as well as family illness!!!) hmm, i’m getting sleepy now so maybe i’ll be back tomorrow (later today). Thanks for the no cafe Cafe Walker!! merry merry everyone!!! .

Today (Xmas Eve) my lovely mother-in-law is coming. Plus I need to make cookies and tirimisu for tomorrow. Tonight my kids arrive home ❤️
Christmas Day will be the four of us plus my mother of course. I'm determined not to let her wind me up this year or draw me into an argument but I think gin (lot's of) will be needed to accomplish this ;)
Boxing Day is just the two of us.

But the best bit will be seeing all my special SF friends on the 27th - 29th *stars
