Oh my goodness it is the weeeeeeeeeeeeeeekendddddddddddddddddddd yay yay yay (I am quite excited, in case that wasn't being conveyed). This week has been absolutely nuts. This month has. This year has.

I feel like we should open a spa next door to Jim's Café. I need a massage. And a facial. And a pedicure. And fluffy robes and a good book.

@NYJmpMaster is there enough money in the coffers to open a spa?!

Here...the fishing poles stowed away at one of those...cabins...
Looks more painting than photo. I went to morning prayer at an Episcopal church near my home; a lady called Alice led it. They have a book of common prayer and they move fast through it and the bible lesson, 1 Kings 11.26, which mentions Egyptian Pharaoh Sheshonq ca. 950 BCE.

Hope a blessed day for all, religious or not, in church or not. I said I would stop by here. Thanks so much.

*stumbles around in the dark, struggling with my overstuffed knapsack and awkwardly holding out a map*

Emerald: Let's see... they said the meeting point would be around here. Too bad I accidentally dropped my compass back near that dark bear cave, and its also too bad I dropped my GPS in that raging river I accidentally fell into, and its also too bad I dropped my phone down that cliff I accidentally walked off of. Next time I really ought to take a cab. (-_-)

*after about three hours of walking around in darkness that is blacker than Don Cheadle's asshole, I approach a cabin in the middle of the woods*

Emerald: Ah, there it is! I wonder why the gang chose such a far out of the way area? They couldn't pick a brighter spot?

*suddenly a sunglasses wearing hillbilly emerges from the front door, brandishing a fully cocked shotgun*

Killer Hillbilly: Hey, you! Yeah, you! Gimme ONE good reason why I shouldn't blow your brains out for tresspassin' on mah property, boy!

Emerald: *waves hands frantically* Wait, wait! Don't shoot! I was just here to meet my cafè pals for a get-together! You know Jim, right?

Killer Hillbilly: I ain't know NO Jimmy 'round here, boy! Only Jimmies I be knowin' is Jimmy Sue from Alabama, the shriveled up Jimmy between my grandpappy's legs, and the Jimmy Dean that done make those tasty sausages! And from the looks of things, you ain't no sausage man!

Emerald: Ask the ladies, and I'm sure they'd disagree with you. ^^; And as for your grandpa... a bit too much information for me, thanks. But despite that - I think I have the wrong cabin... So I'm just gonna turn around and head back the way I came, and you go back to doing the usual redneck things and nobody gets hurt. *cautiously backs away toward the side of a tree*

Killer Hillbilly: *cocks shotgun again* You think its gonna be that easy, boy?! I know your kind, always looking to steal somethin' or tryin' to sleep with our daughters! Gettin' 'em pregnant and takin' off for border! Well, I got news for you! Don't know what kinda party you were goin' to, but you won't be makin' it there tonight!

Emerald: No offense, Jethro, but from this ratty looking cabin I don't think you've got anything worth stealing and I definitely don't see a single Southern lady in sight to hit on, so I'm just gonna bounce. I got a gallon of ice cream melting in my backpack and its for my friends at the cafe.

Killer Hillbilly: Oh, is dat right, boy? Well, I'd say I'd got me a friend nearby that'll... disagree with you, too.

*suddenly a mysterious arm reaches out from behind the tree and hits Emerald over the head with a bloodstained hammer*

Emerald: AAAAAGHHHHHHH!!!!! (Guess I won't be surviving the movie this time. X_x)

*Emerald falls down onto dirty grass face first, knocked unconscious, and the body gets dragged off into the dark behind the tree*

Killer Hillbilly: *slowly grins* You were right 'bout one thing, boy. I ain't had nothin' in my fridge for a good week, and huntin' season's long over. But now? Guess I'm gonna be havin' some ground beef for the next two months. Oughta open me a cafè of my own, and serve up some finger foods for the family. The human kind!!! Heh heh heh heh heh, HA HA HA HA HA!!!

(Thanks for the invite Miss @Innocent Forever... now I know I can never be late to the party, now if only I wasn't so horrible with directions and accident prone I wouldn't keep ending up in scary places like this! Wait... If I'm dead, then how am I even typing this?!)

Oooooo!!!!! Horror stories around the campfire. Good one. True story? Even better. They'll make a movie about you and we, as your family, will get the royalties. Thanks mate!

Just when Emerald Hyperion is all but lost to the back woods hillbilly, this comes up over the ridge:

Almost as if they can see what is happening on the ground, the pilot zeroes in on his targets and fires a missile into the trees next to the cabin. The explosion is deafening and the ground shudders. Bright orange flames light up the sky. As the apache circles over the cabin, a second helicopter approaches.

The ballsy bastard lands right in the hillbilly's front yard. The rescue garbed guys jump out of the chopper and run around the side of the cabin. The hillbilly is on the ground, rolling back and forth, covering his ears with his hands. His gun is lying a few feet away, forgotten in the excitement. The leader of the rescue team reaches Emerald Hyperion, leaning over to check for vitals. The other two grab the hillbilly and haul him towards a large towering pine tree. Using metal zipties, they efficiently strap the hillbilly to the tree.

When they return to their leaders position, they find that he has woken Emerald Hyperion with smelling salts and that he is sitting up looking confused, but ok. The rescue leader helps him to stand up, and one of the other rescue team helps them get to the chopper. The last rescue guy grabs the hillbillys gun, empties the shells on the grass as he walks behind the other men toward the chopper. They all climb aboard and secure themselves before the pilot lifts off. Emerald Hyperion is feeling better at this point and tries to explain the events to the rescuers. Unfortunately the rotors are making far too much noise for them to hear anything he says.

The rescue leader realizes that Emerald Hyperion is getting worked up, trying to talk to them. He grabs a clip board from the side of the cabin and passes it to him. The top sheet of paper is a mission summary. The face of their rescued man changes from frantic to calm to smiling and happy as he reads the details on the page. In short, the summary is a request for air support and rescue to scour the mountainside for late guests to the SF get together a few miles away. The chopper is flying toward the cabin. The rescue team is familiar with this area, and hopes that this will be the last stranded guest that they have to deliver tonight. The skies are dark, the night full of shadows, and they all feel a need to be in their own homes tonight.

Emerald Hyperion hands the clipboard back to the leader of the rescue team. Confident that they will get him where he needs to go, he closes his eyes and leans his head back against the wall of the cabin. He is grateful to have been found . . . but knows that this is yet another unbelievable story for him to share with his SF crowd. He listens to the noise of the rotors chopping through the night as he starts thinking about how he should explain this all to Inno when he arrives . . .
