I am a big fan of Dr. Eric Berg, and he's recently been mentioning something called tudka (sp?), which I am going to buy and get both myself and my mom on it. He said if you have mystery illnesses, it can help clear it up. I know our livers are messed up, so I think it helps to detox. I'm depressed and aren't we all, (he said you have to do exercise like running or swimming to feel better, which I already know that helps me, but I'm housebound) I have no motivation, no energy, fearful, anxiety, CPTSD. I have a lot of responsibility and I can't mess up, because my family will be on me if I do and take my mom away from me.

I have awful liver here as well am interested if this tudca helps you guys blood test numbers.

Good to find this thread. I've cut out sugar and cut down carbs and I'm just about back to my normal weight now. Another few pounds would be perfect. I tend not to write about it when I'm just starting because somehow it takes the wind out of my sails but I'm determined to keep this up. I feel SO much better without sugar, I'm pretty sure my body is suffering from inflammation most of the time. The trick for me is to make things the night before ready for breakfast because otherwise I go for the quick carbs. I'm adding more veg in my diet and having the occasional treat but keeping it small. The feeling of getting comfortable in my clothes is keeping me going too, especially as the nice weather has arrived and I can't hide in a big coat!

Does anyone else get cramps as they lose weight? I get them in my legs at night. I know it's not lack of salt, I eat enough of that and I take supplements.

Anyway, my goal is to build up a bit of muscle and get some tone back now.
You're doing great @BlueGreen. I'm right with you in cutting some carbs and sugars. Haven't gotten cramps though.

I wish I could run. I miss it so bad. I am housebound because I am my mom's caretaker and we've got an extremely toxic family who are targeting me for keeping her away from them. I live in fear that they're going to come and she will let them in, even though I've asked her not to and she said she wouldn't. But she's got dementia so every day is like the movie, Groundhog Day.
I'm very sorry to read this. Is it possible to get a treadmill or even a bike or rowing machine. There's some inexpensive rowing machines online. But it sounds like your hands are full! Running isn't going anywhere, just take care of yourself.

I finally went to a nearby local fitness business yesterday and got the lo-down and tour and set myself up to start next week....the only group "exercise" activity I've ever done is lots of yoga....I hope this is a good solid place and that I make working out this way a consistent practice. Sharing it here to hold myself somewhat accountable, Lol:)

Yes please, let us know how it goes.

I prefer classes because there's just an energy there that I don't get when I'm trying to do it all at home.

Also, I paid, so I better make the most of it! :P

Have fun!

Sorry I let this fall by the wayside. My depression has really gotten the best of me. But I go to crossfit 4x a week and run 2x a week. It's habit now, which helps. I start with a personal trainer next month, so looking forward to that.

But most of my days have been spent in my office chair, working. I was so sedentary this weekend, by Sunday night my legs were aching. I just want to push through these projects and start moving around again. It's been crippling.

I went to the Orangetheory whatever class this morning..not at all impressed..I had located some other clubs yesterday nearby in anticipation of wanting to choose a different business. So after class I went to another place and the owner was there, a class had just released and she spent 1/2 hour with me......I love when synchronicity shows up. So I found my place, all positives there so now I have to just show up and learn and do.....Thursday start:)

Love it.

I've been curious about Orangtherapy. Can I ask what it is exactly?

I am a member of a mom and pop "box" (CrossFit gym) and the level of one on one interaction is so nice. I do miss the big franchise gym's spin class, but it's been good to be in a smaller facility.

Have fun, and let us know how it goes!

@A_J_R ..It's a franchised small fitness space that does HIIT and cardio....they have apparently been in business for a few years. IMO it was not a well designed content/hour and not well instructed. It confirmed the poor reviews I read yesterday here in this area.. Also the club I visited afterwards that is independent and the owner is very present there, been in the business for about 30 years and teaches quite a bit....she worked for OrangeTheory for it's first 5 years and said the format structure had changed. I'm glad to have found her and her knowledge base and commitment to her business. I appreciate the one on one connection.

Almost end of the month. Still drinking water daily which is a huge milestone for me that I have succeeded in. Am going to be incorporating nighttime stretches before going to bed for July. Going to try some tonight to get a headstart after googling which stretches is better for the lower back

I am 50 and have never been able to do a proper pushup. I broke my wrists when I was a kid and so I struggle with that particular exercise. One day though.

That's so awesome you'll be doing that, and I'm jealous!

I'm still doing CrossFit. My 1st personal training session begins this Friday. And I start with a nutritionist (who is also my trainer) at the same time. Pretty excited about that.

I'll start a July thread as well. Sorry to be so haphazard with this. Emotionally, it's been a very rough month. But the workouts have been the one solid thing I've been able to maintain. Consistency is key, that is true.

Sort of exercises similar to positions such as these, are some of the best that I have found, for my --primary / or primarily L-5 pain & discomfort...
(& so, what I was told by my Dr., was to actually do like up to 10 mins. on each leg~ .)
May help w/S.I. joints, as well? But I guess everybody -& their spines, are- different!

I'm excited for you, 1:1 attention and personalization....I'm interested to see what they present to you nutritionally.....and I hope July calms down for you. And you've gotten away some from the office chair:)

I hope you didn't break them both at the same time?
It's funny I can do handstands (yoga) and hold plank position for some time but the push up has never worked.

Definitely trying this one as mines the L4/L5 thank you. I did the arm stretches, the butterfly for legs last night. Going to try this while watching tv for 10 minutes each leg. TYVM

Yes, at the exact same time. Same break both hands. I was about 7, so there's a lot of scar tissue there, and I'm weak.

I can do a headstand (not a handstand, but I'm working on it), and planks, but yeah, the pushup is hard. And, OMG, so proud of you!
