You have to decide which ones you want to follow and which ones you don't. If everyone did all those things to the T, we'd all be too similar.

But following these expectations, we loose our individuality and ability to think for ourselves. Instead we'd be programmed to do as we are instructed to do without questioning it, without giving it a second thought.
And the inevitable result? - Sleepwalking out of existence.

But when they do that, find the middle ground, is that out of personal choice or more of a diplomatic move so as to still be seen to "fit in."?
I think people are manipulated so not really a personal choice, but it reinforces these standards and expectations.

Just to clarify, by middle ground I meant balance of two extremes. That's the healthiest way. At least from what I've been told. I don't exactly follow that lol.

No worries, I never blame the people, they’re just victims of the system.
I don't really blame the people either. Rather it's the system which I have great antipathy towards for the way they are exploitative.

I blame the people. Everyone has a choice. It doesn't matter what the system is like.
A lot of it perhaps depends on conditioned thinking and having the capability to break beyond this. So in a way yeah, you're right, it depends on each one's aptitude to reason which comes down to being their own responsibility.

For example, most people won't be with someone if they're not attracted to them physically first. I give most people a fair shot when it comes to that because I decided that was unfair, and because I realized I have the capability to be physically attracted to someone because of the fact I got to know them as a person first. But it's perhaps true that not everyone has that capability because they're so used to thinking a certain way that it's become part of who they are. Though, there are levels of shallowness, I think. And anyone at a 6 or above, (1 being not shallow, and 10 being extremely shallow) fuck them basically.

Of course it is the healthiest way to survive. But to me being in the middle represents not being myself.

Exactly. Conditioning, manipulation, and the lack of education. Most people wouldn't choose to be conditioned if they had the choice, but they do care about their survival, and don't necessarily have the resources to change that. I'm lucky to have had access to enough education for me to develop my critical thinking.
