A hard day...another 1st without my soulmate.

My former boss at a club i used to work in passed away this past weekend. He didn't open up to many, but I feel we were friends. He lost daughters to suicide and overdose and dealt with running a club for 40 years. I heard he used to be a tyrant but he softened with age. He gave me a job so that I could survive. Rest in peace J. I will always remember you fondly.

My former father in-law passed away. He was a big part of my life when we first got married and the kids were babies. He was a NYC cop and body builder with a wicked sense of humor. May He rest in peace. Ill remeber you fondly K.

Remembering my father and others that served this Memorial Day. A veteran Navy pilot during WWII. He wasn't perfect but served our beautiful country.

My dad served for 28 years. My brother for about 6. Three cheers for their service.

Thinking of my uncle, who served in VietNam. He was exposed to Agent Orange there, and died of cancer from it. Brave in life, brave in illness, RIP

Today would have been my friend's 44th birthday. He died 4 years ago, just a few days before he turned 40. I still don't know what happened, only that it was sudden and unexpected. I met him through a mutual friend because we were all writers. He was a very kind person and seemed to touch a lot of lives. It's not fair that he died so young, and it's still hard to cope with.

My best friend, who committed suicide, and I went walking a trail. it had rained recently so there were lots of mushrooms. I was pointing them out and identifying what I could. she got so frustrated but eventually was my inspiration to pursue higher education.

I still laugh when I remember grandma saying the florist brought her flowers since she was a good customer. She never ordered flowers from the florist. She was visually impaired and accidently threw out the card since she didn't see it. Thankfully mom called the florist and they told her who they were from.

It's coming up to his death day anniversary, and it makes me feel awful.

I'll never have one of our silly laughs, or a hike, or a hug with him again. I'm still shocked he is dead; how could he, of all people, be dead.
