My go to for dealing with this thing called existence. Today, I have downloaded for movies from Amazon Prime:

Leave No Trace
Nancy
Turquoise Rose
Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Witness Protection

I’ve finished the last assignment for this week and my grades are..... cough... ok. Have to maintain a B to keep getting financial aid, i.e. Money to live.

Why do you think you won't be a writer? I've been writing since I was a kid and wanted to do that as well. I'd also love to make movies based on stories I write, but it's one of those pipe dreams I'm not sure I will ever be able to achieve.

Like most careers its become political. And to my shock people or agencies steal ideas/plots. You send in synopsis and they write back, at this time we aren’t selling books of this type or some other reason. Wham! An in house writer with representation writes something similar. And don’t share on social media. People steal and repackage as their own.

Writing with typewriters was easier.

I'm not sure I do it for Escapism, but I too enjoy films as a hobby, not as much lately since I've been focused on other projects like Tabletop RPGs & the like, but yes I love watching movies too but I also love talking about them both in a positive & negative fashion, I find it quite curious that people either love hearing my opinions of a movie or get angry at me for over-thinking everything but such is the life of an analytical film fan.

so miss typewriters....wish I had kept both of mine. Didn't realize lifting someone's ideas is so rampant :(

yeah I had two Brothers. In high school and first year of college. Then it was computers.

i didn’t either until I started reading incidents on Twitter. Publishing houses are doing everything to stay afloat with the self publishing business. Since everyone is chasing that elusive big check and fame, the means to an end has ramped up.

mine were IBM's. my old one from the 60's which had been my dad's and then an 80's IBM selectric..... a difficult to solve catch-22; the process of keeping your creative ideas and writing protected while attempting to get picked up and published..to think that many publishing companies operate without ethics in their practices....sad and not surprising in these times.

Rather than escaping into movies, I much prefer reality. That's because in the past it was Escapism that make my problems even worse. My problems were made even worse by escapism because it blocked me from confronting my problems. But once I began confronting my problems head-on, it was at that point that I began to make progress, constructive progress. Once I began accepting reality and even embracing it, I finally see how life is so precious.

Trust me, if I deal with my reality anymore than I have to... its adios amigos.
