National holidays

Not sure if this comes here, but...
If you could start a new country, list 10 national holidays you would instate
Looking forward to hear all your ideas - along with the names you'd give them.
1. TakABrak (take a break weekend, Thursday through Monday)
2. Justcoz (midwinter, maybe the 15th November)

3. Every Monday to be designated as Happy Smiley Day. You have to make someone smile.

I'm adopting a variation of that one.
3. Hapgreda - Every Wednesday (as that's the middle of the week and everyone is already tired) is designated as a day to greet every person you meet with a smile
4. Goodeed - do something good for 3 people, without them knowing it's you, the first day of each month

They need to be ironed out still, but this is what I have so far. I'd really love suggestions for them!

- TakABrak weekend (take a break)
- Justcoz, which falls out on the 15th November, a random day off
- Hapgreda - every Wed is designated to greet every person with a smile (HappyGreetE1Day)
- Goodeed - the first day of each month do something good for 3 people without them knowing it's you
- Toasttheroast(TJ) every Tuesday in June is BBQ day, the day is off work.
- Earthday, celebrating the creation of the world. On this day is a national competition, age groups split up, with prizes, for the best creative thing about the earth, photograph/drawing/model/writing competition. It falls out on ____ either a weekend or a day off, need to decide when still
- Paintaway, on the 14th and 15th of December. Days where the entire country gets together and paints. There are street paintings done then (whatever that is called, not grafitti, can't remember), and schools are painted then, etc.
- Self love day - massage parlors, trains, etc are all only a 1/5th of the usual cost. It's on the ___
- Life day

I like self love day, and paintaway day, I always thought there should be one day a month where everyone volunteered somewhere day, or cross training day or something like that, something for.. say.. lawyers to appreciate what the people who clean their toilets go through day or something, something to dissolve the default class systems that really still divide us.

Also I would like a drew barrymore day and a hot gothy asian chick day.

Also I think there should be a David Ortiz day in all New England states (and imagine there will be soon).

Also I think there should be an international week every year where a thousand people from every country with a population of more than 10 million are picked randomly by lottery and flown to another country for a week and is steeped in their culture and cuisine and life in order to build towards a true global nation.

Also I think there needs to be a day to celebrate peanut butter.. it is nature's perfect food and most people don't appreciate that, especially when it's schmooshed between chocolate!

Also I think there should be a day or week or MONTH dedicated to STOPPING child prostitution, abuse and modern slavery, as it is a ridiculous HUGE problem in this world and a devastatingly unnoticed issue by governments, media and NGO's alike. This is fucking sick to me, we should actually stop the ENTIRE world from doing ANYTHING else until NO child is put in this situation ever ever again.

Ok.. I have to stop now.. but lastly maybe a.. pissed off and grumpy day.

Love everyone's ideas! 'cept maybe grumpy day, I feel like my coworkers have instituted this day nearly every day of the work week! :p

Create Yourself Day - one paid day off from work every month to paint, draw, play an instrument, knit, build a table, whatever you do to express yourself
Yay Hugs Day - give a hug, get a hug
Letter of Thanks Day - write a letter thanking someone for a kind gesture
Random Kindness Day - do an act of kindness for a total stranger
