Just wanted to say I’ve read what everyone has written in the last 11 posts (posts on this page - page 480) and I’m sorry for all the stress, worries and struggles everyone is going through. Every member here is so strong so I just wanted to make sure you knew that there is someone here who cares, even if there isn’t much I can “do” to help. Lots of big hugs to those who want them

Things are a bit stressful for me right now in various ways. Mostly it is just a lot of uncertainty about the future, and about what an event that will be happening next year will mean for my own resources. They are already extremely limited, and that happening will make them even less so. So it’s hard not to worry about what that is truly going to mean.

Trying to stay positive and hopeful about things right now but it is hard. Maybe that happening will just mean I won’t end up being around as long due to stress and worry, who knows.

We are having major storms here right now. They call it the 'Pineapple Express' because it is a river of rain coming up from Hawaii. Rivers are flooding all over the place. Even streets far from rivers are flooding because they cannot handle all the rain. I hope some of them unfold by tomorrow as I need to get somewhere. Winds are also supposed to pick up and take down trees and power lines. Of course, much of the rain is falling in the mountains and sending melting snow into the rivers to make things even worse. Storms are kind of fun when you are young and healthy. Not so much when you are old and unhealthy.

It’s nice when you can sit by window and watch from the comfort of a well-heated house and be reasonably sure that it’s not going to do any damage. Not so much when you have to be out in it, or might have to suffer some consequences. I hope your trip out tomorrow is uneventful.

Some vets are insensitive and inconsiderate.

I have a cat, lily, she has ckd, I rushed her to the vet last December 4. The vet told me that I need someone to take care of lily if i’m busy, either that or she must be confined.

We already had the confinement treatment twice, they run blood test on her every day, it was financially draining, she was released, was confined again and was then released again and now were back at square one.

The vet himself told me ckd is irreversible, they can only slow it down.

So what was the point of telling me I need someone else as if he didnt even consider that all I have is myself. Not every person is lucky to have someone in their life. Is it a new and foreign concept to be single and live alone?

Does he think I am dripping in money that i can afford those expensive confinement that doesnt really do much?

He is so insensitive and inconsiderate.

this is draining. I am choosing palliative care and every day fearing that she would die any day, i know she wants to live and if i could give her my kidneys i would. I have accepted the worst and every day i feel guilty, because i know i have given up. All i can do is to make sure she’s comfortable.

It is sad about the cost of everything. If you own you can't or can barely afford to fix, if you rent you are subject to all sorts of rules and non stop rent raises. Unless you have a lot of money so many of us are in fixes that just overwhelm...

It’s the reason I’m suicidal. I have a good job but my company sold so I’ll lose it and at a horrible time. I see financial ruin in the future
I wasn’t doing everything correctly but was fine.
Now I need to think about things like getting a gun?
I was on a safe path to retirement. Rug pulled.

I've never encountered that, but yes, that's really disgraceful. It sounds like something someone would do so they don't have to have compassion for the victims.
