Post your *petty* complaint here

Complaint 1: People keep giving me backhanded compliments. Like, "You're working out? We all have to start somewhere..." anytime I try to do something positive. It really irritates me, because I'm trying to get better! I'm trying to become something other than a hollow shell of myself. Why do people feel the need to make sure I can't feel good about myself?
Complaint 2: We all have that one person who is dealing with a lot in our lives. I respect and admire this person in mine, a coworker, because of their resilience. However, they act like the expert on being sad. I made a comment about having two personalities- one really hyped up, the other too apathetic and exhausted to do anything- and they wrote. me. off. because I act professional. We're at work after all. I'm a manager; I can't have people seeing me how I really feel when I'm empty inside. Just because I don't exhibit this emotion (lack of?) outwardly, they wrote me off. I get it. You have shit going on. But you are not the only one! Anyone know what I mean?

It’s been a while since I’ve visited my friends thread here, and wow @walkerbait95 , this thing has taken off!!

I have plenty of petty complaints, I actually lose track, but I have to get this out because it is very petty but just so irritating and irresponsible...

...when something the size of a small elastic band, comes packaged in this:

See the little black rings in the white packet? They’re oil seals for my bike, and to give you a better scale:

I mean thanks for protecting my ridiculously expensive investment, but really?

Oh and before anyone questions me for damaging the box rather than carefully opening it so that it can be reused...that’s how it turned up!! Lucky for the packaging I suppose

It will all be recycled and used to safely protect my return post-it-note sized letter of complaint...which I thought I might send via shippping container, half way around the world, before reaching its final destination a few hours away in Bristol!

When someone licks a yogurt lid.. just put it the f**k down and concentrate on the whole pot you have lol I’ve even slapped a few out of people’s hands as they have gone to lick them hahaha!
Guilty, sorry :( . I laughed so hard at this!! :D I promise from now on to put it down, or maybe stick it to my forehead in a moment of madness :p

When your counselor says she'll go get you a doughnut and this is what she gets you!

BTW she got my a box of them so I don't know why I'm complaining :(
I think you’ll find that this is the bit they remove from the middle of a ring donut! :D

Oh, and that’s one hell of a counsellor :eek::) {{Hedgehugs}}

Tomorrow’s task, hunt the hot water bottle :)
and fill it up with coffee and whisky......then get a very long straw.....:D
I'm still cold today but I found the hot water bottle and I'm now snuggled up on the sofa with it :) I haven't filled it with coffee and whiskey yet though ash- I thought it was a bit early in the day for that!!

I can't stop biting my nails :(
I do this too!
I was wondering about having false nails or acrylic or something instead and maybe it would stop me biting them but I don't know enough about it and don't want to look like an idiot by going into a salon and asking :(

Hey, glad im not the only one :p

I got acrylic nails last year for when i was going on holidays, they were beautiful and like you i knew nothing about them, i didn't feel silly not knowing anything, there's a first time for everything. It was funny though, after she filed and filed for what felt like forever and then applied the gel I had to put my nails under some sort of light and i screeched at the pain of it. Apparently no one else gets this awful feeling lol i have to beat the odds and be the only one of course  I felt silly.

My advice to you, get the nails done, ring the salons in your area explain you have no idea about them and im sure they will have no problem explaining. Mine took about 2 hours to do so you need to book in advance. Shop around some places charge insane prices, mine were either 45 or 55. Go on girl get them, it will DEFINITELY stop you biting them lol

For the backhanded compliments, I would respond in kind. Give them a taste of what they're dishing out and see if they can take it.

For the second one, no one has a right to tell you how you feel or how you should feel or act. Obviously, they're not very good at showing empathy or putting themselves in someone else's shoes if they're saying these things. There's something called emotional intelligence, and people have different levels of it. People who are able to be empathetic and try to imagine how others might feel based on social cues/body language, as well as self-awareness and awareness of one's own emotions is part of being emotionally intelligent. That person obviously has the emotional intelligence of a mouse on a wheel.

I have a habit of biting my nails too. And yes, from my experience, fake nails do stop you from biting them. Especially if they were professionally done because the glue lasts longer (about 2 weeks) and also because you paid for it and don't want to fuck it up, lol.

When people drive by and yell out the window, thus scaring the shit out of me. Are you actually kidding me? This happened last night when I was walking to work and met up with my mom.

*Idiot yells out window, making me jump*

Me: What the fuck was that all about? Asshole!
Mom: Why the hell did that guy yell out the window?
Me: He's a fucking douchebag.

I can get angry not caring who hears me, whether it's impressionable young children, little old ladies, Mormon missionaries, or dogs with sensitive hearing. Who needs a dog whistle with my voice raising a few octaves? But really, stop doing this shit before I throw a rock at your vehicle, fair warning. :)

Why did all the channels suddenly go off? Oh well, at least I still have internet. But usually this proceeds the internet going out for a while....hopefully not though.
