It was foolish of this girl to share these pictures with anyone. It is of course a terrible tragedy, but at this stage, teens should begin to understand that their actions and poor decisions have consequences. The boyfreind is an asshole, certainly, but not to blame for this girl's suicide IMO.

...I'm new here but people who constantly post such controversial things in any forum are looking to fight. Why feed them? :)
Ermmmmmmmm .... i'm not feeding them? How did you come to that conclusion?  Simply trying to stop people taking digs at each other.

and the moral of the story is: never trust anyone with anything that could ruin your life.
Whole heartedly agree with that. Kinda sums up the whole point of this thread.

I agree what happened to her was wrong, but she probably had other problems and this was the straw to break the camels back.
For example to be with an idiot like this to begin with, she must of had problems.
Still I would definitely be supportive for her family to sue this guy if possible. Mainly to let the community know what an arsehole he is.

Regardless of whether it was a big deal, I really can't see it justify suicide per se for anyone but the most short-sighted and shallow people. I firmly believe she had other problems that weren't mentioned - or known - or that she was a generic mindless teenager of lacklustre depth.

Just heard: "18 year old girl commits suicide due to sexually explicit photos shared on 'iphone'". Evidently this is called "SEXTING" and 30-40% of young teens are posting racy, sexual photos on their 'iphones' intended for bf or gf. Then these photos are shared with others without permission. It cost a young girl from Ohio, U.S.A., her life, after they were shown around!! BE CAREFUL!!!
I'm not surprised and I expect to see more of this, unfortunately. I visit other forums where girls post their nudes and semi-nudes without bothering of the consequences. The girls who don't are criticized by male forumers for being backward or closet whores. I've seen many male forumers black mailing these same girls online as revenge. It's all a part of the myspace/facebook culture.

Teenagers don't know how consequences are going to affect them. Embarrassment is a very powerful emotion. I see people do all kinds of things to avoid being embarrassed.

All of us here struggle with feeling worthless. We know better than anyone else, how hard it can be. This young woman may have been having the same kind of struggle and this event in her life tipped the scales for her.

There are too many places to point the finger for the blame in this case. But please. ... there has been so much attention given to and talked about teens and how to stay safe on the internet. Why would it not be obvious that it would apply to iphones, cell phones etc? It stinks once again of lack of respect. Lack of respect for sending those pics, lack of respect by distribuiting them, lack of respect of own personal safety and privacy etc etc. When are people going to learn that once it's out in "net space" anyone can get their hands on it in some shape or form. Parents wake up a dont be so lacidazical about your kids. Keep on top of what they are doing so things like this dont happen. And people wake up you post it your almost asking for some sort of shit to happen.

It is truly sad that this young girl suicided but I too think there was much more to this than just the pics. Peer pressure is unbelieveable at that age. Yep much more than just the pics.

she looking good i dont get it, why she took it so hard?
30,000 people commit suicide every year in the US.
Most of them are old people and teens.
You do not see those people on the news.

The reasons why she did it could be different from what they tell us.
Or it could be only partially true.
They probably want to push some new law that would control out wireless communications and so they are getting the public prepared.
It's been done before so many times.

Im sorry to hear that you were subject to civic mistreatment too, i believe the privacy of one's body usually lies in the innermost circle of our psycological well-being, on feeling that such a belief is mutually understood and respected by one's friends and others, especially if they too feel the same way, grants us social security and confidence. Take that away by flagrantly violating the deep bond of trust and one feels like someone has suddenly snatched the ground you were standing on. In case of this girl, her death was not entirely suicide; for she was not the victim of her own crimes as suicide usually is; but it was part murder - as her social identity collapsed, (which she valued more than anything else being a teen) she was forced by others into a disassociative limbo during which she attended a funeral of a teen committing suicide. Inspired, isnt the right word, but the idea to her, seemed to take her away from her miseries since her troubles wouldnt just go away.

Well, few things :P

1. The one who is respounsble for all this is her ex and he must take the full punishment.
2. she looking good i dont get it, why she took it so hard?
i mean all girls have the same thing, everyone can see what it is on porn sites f she was a guy then its a bit diffrente as guys tend to be senstive about size..
i just dont get it ><

I can just as easy look at some girls photo from this site
and then "imagine" her naked... hell some guys even so more then that
they modify pictures... but it all got the same result, WE ALL KNOW HOW
GIRLS LOOK LIKE WHEN THEY ARE NAKED!
That's precisely the danger of porn sites - they warp people minds about women. Sex was never designed to be 'freely available' it was designed for commited relationships / marriage. Summer Rain, when you next look at porn, just think about how many of them have STD's and HIV as a result, and your advocating it by watching them. And for your information, numerous porn performers go on to commit suicide. http://www.thepinkcross.org/

This girl that killed herself is SUPER SELFISH and SHALLOW!
She thought that her "image" among the other students is more important
then her life, or the feelings of her relatives.
She ended her life just because some stupid teenage girls told her some bad words..
Hell, we guys could of suffer physycal abuse not only moral and psychological
but she killed herself only because someone saw her naked boddy
this is one of the most selfish things i saw latley!
What a despicable thing to say! How would you feel if the girls family / parents viewed this thread and seen your insulting comments.

Eh, I guess so. I won't fight that, porn gives inaccurate portrayals of sex very often and is often outright stupid too; that said there's some great pornographic stuff that's *gasp* good as a sort of documentation of sexuality and how it can apply to you. Case in point: '

Mainly I agree with you, but don't generalize all porn.

Sex was never designed to be 'freely available' it was designed for commited relationships / marriage.
Really? Poor design; a LOT of cultures do include, or have, some form of non-monogamous relations that were perfectly acceptable. It's well known the Romans and Greeks in the good old days were happy to have some 'fun' with the guys as well as the wife, and it's not secret that some cultures still allow for multiple wives.

It's obscenely presumptuous to claim humans are a monogamous creature by design when it's clear that many different cultures feel differently and also that humans have a propensity to wanting to have sex with many different partners.

Summer Rain, when you next look at porn, just think about how many of them have STD's
It certainly happens, but any porn star worth their salt gets an STD test at least monthly.

and HIV as a result,
Ya, no. AIDS doesn't get around so much in porno. Why? It's fairly clear when you have it a lot of the time, the testing as mentioned above, and especially the fact it's considered a felony to knowingly engage a sexual partner when you have AIDS without prior informing and consent. Does it happen by accident? Sure. Of course it does. Does it happen often? No.

Do construction workers occasionally get crushed by a steel girder that feel off the crane? Yes. Should we stop construction work? No; we should advocate workplace safety.

and your advocating it by watching them.
I advocate AIDS by watching porn? Wow.
And for your information, numerous porn performers go on to commit suicide. http://www.thepinkcross.org/
Dentists are often shown as one of the most, or the most, suicide prone professionals. Should we ban dentistry?

What a despicable thing to say! How would you feel if the girls family / parents viewed this thread and seen your insulting comments.
OH NO! What if the politicians heard me when I said they were tossers! They could see my insults! I better pretend I don't have an opinion and shut up!

Really, though, I agree with him that it's selfish to kill yourself over a hit to your public image - that said I doubt that the only reason she attempted; it's often the case the media reports the 'final straw' incident in a suicide as if it were the only reason.

Dentists dont have sex with their patients.

I dont agree with porn full stop. And viewers are nothing more than peeping toms viewing unmarried porn performers who have sex with hundreds of people a day.

What good is a HIV test after the event? The fact that they have to test so often goes to show how discusting it is.

Many of them go on to regret what they have done and yes, maybe at that point in their lives they don't have any respect for themselves, but show some respect for them by turning away from it. The majority of porn performers have experienced abusive backgrounds, sexually abused, raped, homelessness and many are high on drug whilst performing, and using it to fund their drug habits. Do you really want to condone all this? Plus, there is no guarentee your'e not watching a child under the age of consent.

huh, I don't know where you get your information but I've seen many documentaries that show most porn star are always tested to make sure they are all safe, some use condoms because there are many varied types of porn...there's also educational videos meant for couples to spice up their lives...

as for monogamy, many mammals are polygamist and so there's nothing wrong with that...

and NOT MOST of them have been abused...people in the sex industry(besides white trade and forced sex labor) are pretty normal people who want to make money so they can settle, and I've seen many many porn star that are married, or coupled...and for them they see the importance of being together without being monopolies by sex...they value their relationship more since they have sex all day and when they have sex with their partners its more intimate...

to be honest sex is a form of creative expression toward yourself, God and your partner whom ever he/she may be...God condones hate not love...
