Star Wars Day Cafe (2024)

1) I dont remember the exact age, but I was young, and no, it wasnt in the theatre. We had a hox-set on VHA that made a funny fart noise when you put it back in the sleeve.
2) Return of the Jedi is just too iconic to ever choose anything else
3) I think each of the prequels had at least 1 major cringe moment which ruined it for me. For example Jar Jar Binks... (YIKES). I did like episide 7, it felt fresh and like a beginning, but it bothered be that Fin didnt end up being the jedi. It would have felt more natural. Also, a different trope than "Death Star But Bigger" would have been nice.
4) Strangely, Fin is my favourite. I just like a character who's moral compass overrides even brainwashing.
5) Nope, aside from a couple of lightsaber toys. Im a trekkie you see. Plenty of Trek merch, no Wars.
6) I've been to a couple Star Trek conventions and some general geek conventions, but nothing targetedly Star Wars no.

1. How old were you when you saw the original 1977 film that started it all? Did you see it in the theater when it was originally released? What were your first impressions? I wasn't born yet in 77. I'm not sure what age I first saw Star Wars, but I was pretty young. Thankfully I got to see the good version several times before the Special Edition nonsense.
2. What is your favorite film of the series and why? Empire Strikes Back. It introduces my favorite character and has the most iconic scenes. It's truly the heart of the story.
3. Did you like any of the prequels or post-quels? Or should Lucas have just stopped after Episode 6? I didn't care for the prequels. I did like the first two of the Disney movies. I know the second one is a very divisive movie, but I liked it. I thought the third one was trash. The third one feels like a mess. It tries to present too many ideas.
4. Which character is your favorite and why? Yoda. He's like the philosopher of the story and has the best quotes.
5. Do you own/did you you own any Star Wars merchandise/collectibles? no. but I went to a vintage toy store recently. Got to see a lot of the original toys from the 70s.
