I don’t have a response to the question of an easy choice, but I think I understand what you’re saying. Do you have a safety plan? One of the questions in the general safety plan is to list the reasons why you’re still here, since you are still alive at this moment. I hope this doesn’t go against the rules for me to say that I think that staying alive is not an easy decision either.
I have one reason to stay here, that's I could never hurt my family like that. I've seen what loosing a loved one does to people. I don't want to be here because everything I might have once thought of as a reason to stay? I have pretty much lost along the way as a result of severe mental health issues, life biting down hard and the working world shoving me so far out of sight, after over two decades of trying, I got Signed Off because they knew just how serious I was when I said I was Suicidal after I just couldn't take it any more. I still can't.
Oh, for funsies? I've just heard from the Jobcentre, here in the UK, that they would like me to go in for a "Chat" about what they can do to help and next steps. I've had a practicing psychiatrist, a retired one who did 50 years in the job, GP's and mental health staff at mental health specialist facilities say I am not fit for work, but apparently none of that matters. I say this because "Next step" with the Jobcentre is always to get you back into work. Anyone who believes otherwise just isn't paying attention.
I've actually felt less like getting off this world for a bit, less shaky and so down it felt like there was no way back up. Now it's all coming back.
