no. I'm working with allowing myself to feel these icky things called feelings. Surprisingly, I'm not instantly overwhelmed as I had feared I would be. Also adjusting my attitude when driving. Normally I have all the patience of a squirrel that accidentally ate a stray shard of meth, which means sitting at a red light for more than 45 seconds feels like the end of the world. Stuck behind someone driving slow af (about 75% of the posted speed limit), and there's only one lane of traffic is something that actually raises my blood pressure enough to make a doctor ask me what's going on.
When I can remember, I acknowledge that I have an opportunity to work with my impatience. Lately I've been getting to places in a lot less stress than normal. So allowing my painful or just uncomfortable feelings is actually better than "fighting them," as in I must cut them out and bury them deep underground. They are not demons; they are just unmet needs of my past selves. Not saying this is easy, nor is it without downs along with the ups. Today I feel like I am not dreading tomorrow, so I'm taking the W while I can.
