If DV resources can't find housing for you, and you happen to live in either the US or Canada, 211 may be worth a try.
211 is for help with food, housing, employment, health care, counseling and more. You can call 211, and you can also visit the websites

www.211.ca (Canada).
I called a DV resource once on someone else's behalf. Availability of beds in a DV shelter was tight, but the counselor said sometimes the police will let people stay in a local jail.
Hopefully you can transition to temporary housing and then move on to something more permanent if you can get either benefits or work.
