Back when I made this account I was reading Dante's Inferno, and I figured I too was walking through a hell of my own, so the name made perfect sense. Even my avatar is an illustration depicting a scene of that very same book.
I'm not going through hell anymore, not even close to "Hell", the closest metaphor for me now is that I'm going through London Underground in rush-hour. Its uncomfortable, unpleasant, there are too many selfish people crowding in to take what little space I have, the whole thing is just tiring and though I know I have to keep going to get where I want to be, and I can find little ways to entertain or distract myself, I cant help thinking every single moment "I wish it would end".
You know even though I came up with it off the top of my head I'm actually very pleased with that metaphor

My grandpa started calling me Gonzo, after the Muppet, when I was little. It caught on, and it got shortened to Gonz over the years. My dad’s side of the family (huge family, hundreds of people) have all called me that my whole life. Most of them don’t even know my real name, lol. I started using it everywhere online some number of years (I forget) ago.

Jesus, thinking about it now, that nickname was the last thing he ever said to me. I walked into his hospital room, he opened his eyes for a moment and said ”Gonzo” as a greeting, then went back to sleep.
I think the reason he only ever called me by the nickname even up ‘til his literal deathbed was because I’m named after his other son, my dad’s little brother, who died as a child.
Anyway, I like the name so I use it.

I was searching for chimerism on humans, and found it quite interesting, since I didn't know that it was a condition that ppl could be born in. Chimeras for me were only the mythological ones. When I created the account I needed something that ppl could'nt find me on other social networks or vice-versa. Sooo yeah, this is where it came from
i’ve always been interested in the word Chimera because in college a friend suggested that i use it in describing myself for a reason i did not, at the time understand. Also at that time i did not even know the word. i did like the sound of it plus that it sounds like camera. i of course learned more about it in time and from at least the mythical standpoint, i find it very fascinating! 😊 and now more so.
