I wish. Nope. It's only like a half hour from me. There were sooo many dogs there, along the water @lonely hiker. I came home and told my daughter that, Yes we WOULD get a German Shepard....when the cat dies. πŸ˜³πŸ˜„. How was you trip? Didn't you go somewhere camping?
Very NICE πŸ‘! :^) /_(makes me want to go for a swim πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ!) ~*~~*~~*~|β€’> =D

I have a question for anyone here who lives (or has lived) in the NYC region, and specifically those who are familiar with driving in and around NJ/NY/CT tri-state...

I am tentatively planning a trip to Hartford CT to attend my nephew's wedding, and wanted to know a good route. I know some traffic is inevitable, but I want to try to keep the hassles to a minimum. I'd like to avoid the GW Bridge/Cross-Bronx EXPY and don't mind going out of my way (a little) to do so. Tolls aren't an issue, as I use an EZ pass transponder. I am coming from Richmond VA via 95 north/NJ turnpike and leaving on a Thursday evening.

My guess would be Palisades Parkway to Tappan Zee but I wanted to get input from any seasoned locals accustomed to driving in the region.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Thank you @JMG .... It is one of my favorite places to visit, largely protected by the NPS and unsullied by the sprawling, commercial crap that has infected and spoiled most of the US coastline...

Can't 😴 so thought I'd post pics from my annual Shenandoah National Park camping/hiking sojourn.

The Perseids were amazing, no moon and really dark skies.

Anyway, here's some pictures. No beat sightings, alas, but I saw more deer on this trip than all my previous visits combined..
