Maybe you could try writing an email to your dad.
An email would be helpful because he doesn't use internet, so i wouldn't need to worry about an accidental sending. He came from the age and job where he started the internet. He had what he called leashes with the 1st pagers and cell phone, and home dial up n so on... so now he refuses to. Stubborn... yes... however he's allowed to be at 80.

You could try writing something similar to your PCP
i had finally told my pcp at my last appointment how i have been feeling. i started to say no as usual... and stopped... paused... and said the truth. However then i couldn't admit the truth when she asked if i ever thought about hurting myself or others. i just hid pulled my sleeves back down from the bp cuff n said no. i tried talking to the nurses that get you into the room and ask those routine "questions" and i finally answered honestly and was dismissed like she never heard me. i know the stigma against mental health is stupid and i fight against it constantly for everyone.... except me. The stigma towards myself is extremely difficult for me to overcome still.

my PCP had a gal the office who is in charge of helping find counseling or services and help with all that contact me through my health connection. i answered her questions with complete honesty even though it's in my medical records and everyone can see them. However, she didn't ask about harming, just what i was looking for and insurance. i explained about being on the HDC (hospital discounted care) program, however its only through that hospital and won't cover medications. Just necessary initial visits. She told me she would get back to me in 3 days. This was a week n half before Christmas. i figured it was the holidays with offices closed down making it more difficult. i'm just under the age for medicare, i make too much income for medicade or government help, yet i only work 4 days a week. im just so tired of being stuck between a rock and a hard place. Not enough to survive, n not enough to get help is all becoming not enough to care anymore and too tired of fighting.

There's an acupuncture school in Denver
i was referred to them by one of my specialists to help with how bad my fibromyalgia had become after having covid, however i did have insurance at the time and they refused the referral, and they were too expensive for self pay. i will try to ask about the "financial barrier" option. i never knew it existed.

(filling prescriptions and not having insurance)
i have the HDC and have literally begged for help in the messages to several Drs and areas of the hospital asking what my options are for help with getting medications.

i live North of Denver and all my Drs are at the UCHealth all over metro Denver and beyond. i absolute Love a few of my Drs there and they really care for their patients. Unfortunately, they can't help with the billing departments or pharmacy.

may71,
i'm really not trying to sound like a downer or shoot down suggestions. i am open to and greatly appreciate all ideas, as i have tried everything i can think of to get help. That's a huge part of why i feel so hopeless. Nothing i have done has worked and doors are constantly being slammed in my face. i'm just so dammed tired and feel it will be easier on everyone if i just give up.

That's ok. I appreciate that there are often obstacles to ideas working out. Hopefully there will be something that will work out eventually.

Your life is something worth fighting for. Even though you may be too tired, other people should at least be putting some effort in to help.

I can't guarantee that they'll offer that, but I know another school clinic that offers that, so maybe they will too.

It looks like they offer one free treatment to everyone, but their online registration is not showing any availability.

Sometimes schools will also offer free treatment by a faculty member if you allow students to sit in on the treatment session.

If the school I linked above doesn't work out, I can try to find some other places.

I'm sorry it was like that. She really should have contacted you. It's terrible that someone would have to struggle to get treatment. Would you feel comfortable giving her a call to remind her that you're still in need of help?

Ok, email won't work with your dad, but you might be able to do the equivalent with regular mail. It's just that then you'd have to hover your hand over a letter drop box. It would be less convenient, but still possible.

211 may still be worth a try, though no guarantees with that. As you mentioned above, you may be earning just above the cut off for a lot of programs.

The acupressure self-massage might be good for you. I think @seabird and some other members have tried that and it worked well for them.

Comfirming that the accuspressure self-massage does work for me @may71 . It did the first time I tried it and still does. I want to add that while it is really hard to get out the door when depressed, etc., that fresh air and walking or running is healing. Be safe in choosing the location, and never at night.
Best to you @AmberMarie .
