Unresolved Grief

I have always tried to avoid dealing with my grief issues. At the time of these deaths I chose alcohol as my coping mechanism; I chose to forget and block out the pain rather that face it head on and process the emotions involved.

I had three deaths occur with an 18 month period. How have any of you learned to process these and allow yourself to move on from the death of a loved one? Are you still dealing with them? If you had "issues" with someone who passed, have you forgiven them?

I would think after 9-10 years I would be over it by now. I'm not. These are still very sensitive subjects for me. I don't know if I just over dramatize everything and make it out worse than it has to be. I've been told that I am just too sensitive.

I can't help that I genuinely care and feel love toward basically everyone I meet, be it in real life or online to people I have never met personally. It is my desire that any and every person I have contact with to be happy, to feel accepted, and to feel loved. I think it's because I desire these feelings for myself but for some reason they are unobtainable for me.

Is it possible to care too much?

I don't think it's possible to care too much. I've gone through a lot with grief myself, so I'm not a stranger to this.
I think to forget a loved one who's passed would be the saddest thing of all. Then they'd be gone in spirit as well.
I know sometimes grieving can get very dark and twisted. I've been through all the rabbit holes too. But at some point we have to stop grieving and start celebrating their lives instead. Grow flowers from where it hurts. It's so bittersweet it's fucked up, but grief means that you were touched by someone wonderful, as fleetingly as it may have been.
You're not being dramatic. This is real shit.
