Just looked at my quit tracker and I'm on day 133. Still early days but I do feel like a non smoker now rather than someone trying to quit.
i once got all the way to 5 months but i would bum one 2 or 3 times a week. i didn't like bumming them so i bought a pack, big mistake lol. this time i made it. and if you made 133 days then you definately quit. you should be proud of yourself i know im proud of you i hope you don't have to face too many temptations...mike...*hug*shake

Thanks Mike :)
I've only got one friend who smokes and I've told her no matter how much I beg not to give me one. So far she's stuck to that (and I have begged!)

i did bum 1 cig last year but i still consider myself as quit because it was only 1. my wife was pissed at me and the person who gave me the cig lol. i do have a cig hidden for an emergency but it's been there for more than a year so i'm sure it's awfully stale by now lol....mike...*hug*shake

gross, I can't imagine how desperate I'd have to be to smoke a cigarette that had been hidden for a year Mike @1964dodge
that cig helps me a lot. 1. you're right it would be gross so that puts smoking it as an act of desperation, and 2. it comforts me knowing i have 1 so i don't worry about not having a cig, if that makes sense...mike...*hug*shake

I personally don't get that line of thinking but how often do we hear that around here? (similar thinking) so it would seem I am the minority in this case. Must be something about it that really sets people up for success.

And yeah, you're totally right about it making smoking a desperate thing. That's like a death bed smoke there.

Years ago on one of my previous attempts to quit the stop smoking nurse at the local doctors told me she recommended keeping a packet handy at all times "so you don't feel stressed". I looked at her thinking are you nuts - it would last about 3 minutes.

She also had never been a smoker and tried to tell me that she understood because she liked cream cakes and had to resist those.
