At first, I did have to change my habits...especially morning so couldn't do the coffee/email/sf thing for several months...and before/after dinner would do adult coloring much to the dismay of my husband but it did work... now just say to myself I am a non-smoker .....and don't want to go through it all again. The patch helped as well as when put on told myself couldn't smoke while it was on.

Just be gentle but firm on yourself...we're all behind you with our pom-poms!!!

"No, we're not smoking anymore, remember?
This is what got me through the toughest moments, reminding myself I am now a non smoker. Mornings was the hardest for me to deal with, I couldn't give up coffee and still drink it. For me it was more just grin and bear it, this will pass blah blah blah, but it worked.
Sometimes I still get cravings, have thought about buying a pack a few times, but tell myself "no" take a deep breath because I can now. At the risk of sounding like a cliche, it does get better, once you start to feel the benefits of not smoking it gets a lot easier. Keep going, you'll get there in no time.
Congrats btw for making the decision to quit and making it this long!!

I'm addicted to other things - opiates, crack. And sometimes I get thoughts of using, but then comes an automatic thought of "No way, not happening". So if I can get to that point with cigarettes, that would be great.

Here we go again. I only managed a few weeks in the summer and started again on holiday in September.

I'm now on day 23 and doing ok using a mix of nicotine lozenges and a vape. From next week I'll switch to a nicotine free vape and the plan is to dump that after a couple of weeks. Now I'm single and attempting to survive on just my salary I can't afford to smoke - tbh that's more of an incentive than my health.
