Throwing everything away. I'm almost done with one box and filling the second trash bag. Holding on to things that have negative memories and are meaningless just to prove: “See, I'm smart, see I tried to better myself, see I didn't always look like a freak.” None of that means anything to me anymore. People will always judge you even without you opening your mouth. I know I can't wipe away my whole existence, but at least I'll be in control of not having these things in my present any longer, and I won’t have a daily reminder.

@Deadsoon I understand not wanting and being tired of judgements. If there are things which have value, that you might want someday down the road, maybe put them into storage or something like that? I mean, I know with me I tend to throw stuff away when I am slipping down into si. I hope you're going to be okay.

It sounds very cleansing, to get rid of items from the past. I hope your life is filled with goodness only.

@seabird I know you're concerned, but I believe we give value to material things. We value material things more than humans, animals, and the earth. If I don't value it anymore, then it goes in the trash. Keeping the stuff around me just makes me feel worse because it reminds me of where I want to be and where I am now. Clutter makes my anxiety and depression worse anyway, so that's the upside to that for now.

@Deadsoon Clutter does that to me too. Its distracting presence makes me feel much worse. I could dive into a discussion about why our attention gets pinned to material things, but that's a different topic. I think I expressed concern because it wasn't clear exactly, but I'm glad to hear how you see it. A few years ago I got rid of a truck-load of stuff which someone had given me without asking. I hope your anxiety and depression subside and heal.

I have a similar mindset. No matter it's past significance, once it contributes to the clutter and makes me anxious, I donate it or throw it out.
