As powerful and sobering as this movie is, it is a spring picnic compared to its British analogue, Threads (1984)

I could only watch it once (Threads)
I have seen films like that. Schindler's List comes to mind because you realize the things depicted actually happened. Man Behind the Sun was the same for me, similar themes in being WWII and the opposing side and what was done to others.

Hec Ramsey, one of those old 1970s TV movie series like Columbo. This one stars Richard Boone set in Oklahoma of 1900 or so, so it is a Western. He plays an older lawman who is much like the character of Paladine from Have Gun Will Travel where he uses smarts, science and forensics as much as fisticuffs and gunslinging. He has a trunk with a magnifier to examine rifling on bullets to match the bullet to the murder weapon and a fingerprint set up. It only lasted for 2 seasons and about 20 movie episodes and many have never heard of it.
