I still love the wizard of oz. I remember when I was a kid they showed it once a year and I would watch it every time. this was before vhs,dvd, or streaming, in the dark ages...mike

Yeah, it was a big event in our house too....same with the Peanuts holiday specials. I would count down the days until it/they aired. An exercise in patience, but the payoff was worth it.

These days it's all about instant gratification

There is a local bookstore I use to checkout from time to time but it gotten so bad I stopped visiting the place. But, I was checking youtube with their training video. I watched it, and it is funny as hell. Really, I was laughing all the time. And this is a training video. True, the focus of the video is poor. I have been scratching my head, and this is a training video.

attack of the crab monsters , a 1957 b&w sci-fi movie

Love those 50s "big bug" pics... classic sci-fi....Them! , Tarantula (featuring a very young Clint Eastwood in his first film role) and The Giant Mantis are my faves from that era..

Watched yesterday - Gauguin:Voyage to Tahiti... interesting docudrama about a painter that I didn't know much about

Watching now: Arctic, a survival drama. Understated, but riveting nonetheless..

While watching that video, I had the music from deliverance playing in my head, I don't know why. He seems to mistake working at a book shop with being in the army.
