Walter White, in the altar ego of "Heisenberg" did something similar in one of the earlier episodes of Breaking Bad. Now I wonder if that was homage, or what. It was delightfully unrealistic, though, because the explosion blows the a/c unit straight off the side of the building. A pressure change that dramatic would be expected to take out the entire brains and eyeballs of anyone in the vicinity and I would expect other soft tissue damage. So the fact that he walks away protected by nothing but earplugs is super entertaining.
