Hi
I know we have a thread for movies. But I have not seen one for TV shows. I put it here rather than the coffee house so it did not get burried amongst the ever changing threads in that area. I hope its okay to put it here.

So I will begin. And maybe there will be others who would like to talk about what they like or did not like on TV. Or Telly for those across the pond from where I live :) tonight I watched ( on my DVR) 2 things I really love. Downton Abbey. And also the Grammy salute to the Beatles. i love love love Maggie Smith on Downton Abbey. Watching it is such a guilty pleasure. And the beatles tribute was such a quality production. With the Paul and Ringo there involved in it. Yoko Ono in the audience, amongst so many other lovers of music who were there.

Well...not exactly a tv show, I suppose, but I rather was looking forward to my American Girls kicking a little Canadian Backside in hockey (but it didn't happen). It did lead to me coming up with some new clever cursing combos. So in the end, I am satisfied.

There is so much golden television - I list some of many:

-The Likely Lads & the sequal Whatever Happened to...........?
-Love Thy Neighbour (Now banned on uk tv due to racist element though it was comedy)
-Butterflies
-Bread
-The Liver Birds
-The Cuckoo Waltz
-Man About the House & the spinoffs George & Mildred & also Robins Nest
-Please Sir & the sequal The Fenn Street Gang
-Grange Hill & the sequal Tuckers Luck
-Byker Grove
-Porridge
-Open All Hours

and so son and so on...........

Can anyone come up with any more?

Oh & of course probably the most popular exports out of the US to world TV networks Happy Days & Sesame Street

Modern Family: I just started watching this on reruns & I must say, that I don't normally flock to the hits like all the rest of the lemmings...but this show is the shit!;)

This is the first time I've watched Big Brother (& so I consequently don't know any of the rules!): while it is ever so intriguing - to me - I must admit that it's beginning to get a bit boring as all of the most interesting "characters" have been (getting / voted out) "killed off." Maybe that's the way it always goes...

Checked out a new show on Fox called Gracepoint last week and it was really good. It's based off the UK show Broadchurch and has the same lead actor, David Tennant, who was great in Doctor Who.

I like American Horror Story, and it's unique in the fact that it uses the same cast members every season, but different settings/characters/storylines.

The Bachelor. I could just watch it with the sound off and pay attention to the girls' faces... Their reaction shots & expressions are out of this world. They cannot be acted (even if they are).
