when you're depressed what makes you feel better:

Whenever i feel depression i do exercise. Walk and sometime yoga both exercises are best to deal with stress and depression. Music is also good thing to reduce stress.

When I'm depressed, I find it impossible to motivate myself to do anything. I usually like exercise, but when I'm down I can almost never find the energy to do any. Usually I go straight to sleep if I can.
Games help me sometimes. Over Christmas and New Year I felt particularly awful and only when playing Xenoblade Chonicles X or Yakuza 5 I felt a little happier. Xenoblade had such a large, vibrant world and a really calming feel to the substories and characters; You could get lost for hours in that game. And Yakuza 5...well, lets just say roaming around the streets of Tokyo beating up gangs of assholes with loads of weapons and kicking their faces into the ground is an amazing way to blow off steam :D

When I'm feeling really depressed I try and get the motivation to watch videos on youtube. They are usually pretty funny, and get me out of my bad moods.

playing classical music in the background helps ground me and so does reading my favourite books if I can will myself to start.
Bird watching; we have feeders on our windows and it is a joy to the birds interact with each other.

Avoiding people. Cycling or hiking to the point of exhaustion.
It's not an easy fix though because it gets a lot of courage and effort to get going when I'm down, but when I do it is the best feeling in the world. It makes me feel proud of myself.

What helps me feel better is talking about how I feel at times just by venting or writing it down, watching a funny movie helps, spending time with my entire family helps too and getting quiet time in as well. Praying too helps.

I find its about having a balance between activity and rest, it's about having small goals that are achievable and also having those me/myself and i days can be great as well as if your like me you have to do a few activities one day and the next day u feel a little pooped, having those days when you have to care about stuff/worry or you only worry about things you really enjoy helps. I.e on my days off from life. I get cracking on my blog, writing my story and my minds attention is on those activities.
I am not thinking about having to go to town and problems I face on daily basis.

I also find that vaping no nicotine helps me to at times when i am stressed and gives me something to do with my hands rather than eat although i don't smoke. I also find avoiding too positive people, i.e people that deliberately go out of their way to make you feel like shit. I like being with positive people however if they come over as braggy it can really be really horrible for my mental health.

I also find its about finding what help you, for example avoiding the art group and music although doesn't solve the problem of having no friends to me its like i am getting away from the girl thats horrible there and there's this other woman who talks to monotone that I end up wanting to leave anyway as she's so boring. She talks as if she's reading the most boring article in a newspaper. So instead i've been on my mac doing my blog, story or doing studying.
