One that I get a kick and a chuckle out of, but it is from the 1970s.

The amusing part is although the song was released by KISS and they played it in concert as their biggest single ever Peter Criss was the only member of the band to have anything to do with any part of the song being recorded for the album Destroyer. No other member of KISS was involved in the writing, singing or played any instrument when it was recorded, they didn't even want the single to be released. Criss cowrote the song years before joining KISS, he was the only person that sang on it and the musical instrumental part was an outside symphony orchestra playing.

Thanks @Innocent Forever for tagging :D and thanks @Astrid78 for reviving the cafe :) !

Been listening to this (EP/album) all day long since yesterday:

I discovered it by browsing the bandcamp music platform. There was this article:

https://daily.bandcamp.com/lists/rare-shoegaze-guide

It's so nice... I need more shoegaze in my life :D I already got some Slowdive on vinyl & cd - always nice to discover new sounds. So I bought this one too, digitally.
It's just what I need today, to get through these endless householding tasks this afternoon :P - that or I'll listen to some podcast...

Maybe this would count?

I didn't even have any girls in high school 😲 But I was really into 2112 and Caress of Steel back then!
Yep, that's a ballad, one of the few in their catalogue .. Here's another

Madrigal

Music: Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson
Lyrics: Neil Peart

When the dragons grow too mighty
To slay with pen or sword
I grow weary of the battle
And the storm I walk toward
When all around is madness
And there’s no safe port in view
I long to turn my path homeward
To stop awhile with you

When life becomes so barren
And as cold as winter skies
There’s a beacon in the darkness
In a distant pair of eyes
In vain to search for order
In vain to search for truth
But these things can still be given
Your love has shown me proof

------

COS is their most underrated recording. Bastille Day just shreds 🎸

Rush has been a favorite of mine since when they came out back in the 1970s. I have always found it impressive with how Geddy Lee not only is playing bass, but is at times playing keyboards with his feet while keeping the timing right at the same time with the singing all at the same time. Every member of the band extremely talented. RIP Neil Peart.

80s music?, yes! love it. i've hated some long ago but now truly love it all, even rush 🤪.

its funny? ironic? just plain weird that i've been trying to distance myself in many ways or just become scarce here, because i have been running out of energy and finding recharging does not come as readily as it once did. in part it is me and my intensities, but in another part, because the world is moving so far into a new mindset that i just can't attach myself to and it is really wearing away at me. its like people just recently began to realize that the world is getting too mean and needs to be fixed so what to do about it? make it meaner. isn't that whats going on? they're making it a meaner world? i hope i'm wrong. i want to exclaim "i don't want to be a part of it anymore". it just makes me so sad. but there still is much nice in the world and of course SF and 80s music are parts and parts to be grateful for. i'm happy @Innocent Forever that you invited me. i'm happy @Astrid78 that you opened the café. so much thanks. much love to all ❤️.
