Just with a google search, there are a number of options that come up for dental grants or loans. Just put in your area. I believe you will be able to do this. There are options such as clip-in veneers as well.

This website says "If you can’t afford the one-time price of dentures, nearly every dentist will agree to installing dentures with a payment plan to help make the procedure more affordable. More often than not, many times — all you need to do is ask "

There are other options on their website also:

Hi, I’m sorry to hear how hard things are for you right now. I’m guessing that you’re in the US. You can complete dentures in price range of $1000 - $15000. It depends a lot on the materials.

I don’t realize an employer could fire someone for dental health reasons. That seems like firing someone for a health issue and I always thought employers are not supposed to do that…at least where I live…unless the health issue literally means the person cannot physically do the job. You might want to explore that with whatever local agency oversees labour laws.

Have you asked your employer how long he thinks it would take to get this dental work set up and done? Those ads people see on TV where they do full sets implants in a day? I’m sure it can be done, but I’m not sure it is the norm. Getting implants depends on more than just not having teeth there. I had an implant and the dentist misjudged the amount of bone. He had to graft bone tissue from the roof of my mouth. After all that, the implant failed and I had to pay to get it removed. Your boss might think you need to get this done…(I’d check into whether or not he can actually fire an employee for this, pressure them into it, and so on.)

I came across this website that might offer you some help: https://www.hhs.gov/answers/health-insurance-reform/where-can-i-find-low-cost-dental-care/index.html — at least I hope it does.

I really understand your frustration with this. I had several years where I could not afford even basic dental care. Eventually, many of my teeth started to crack and needed to be extracted. It’s hard explaining to people that I do want to look after things, but it’s just too expensive, even for something as important and health-related as dental care. They don’t always understand that.

I wish you all the best. I’m hopeful that you might find someone/a dental school that is willing to help you out. Keep trying! Let us know what happens.

Hello, I've only skimmed through the comments so apologies if I am repeating, but I'm wondering if you're in the states have applied for medicaid? Many people think you have to be jobless or homeless to get that, but its not true and the income cap is actually quite high, medicaid does cover dentistry and will most likely pay for all of what you need done.

This, to me, sounds really wrong. Medicade cover a dentist bill for all implants? hope I am wrong but I can't imagine that covering over 20,000 in dental work.

My teeth are all screwed! its really bad. Worse than you are thinking right now.

They are getting worse and worse as weeks and months after years of this going on.

You may have missed the fact I am jobless now. That is why im really screwed. Even if it would take too long I can't even save for this now. That's when I really lost hope.

I'm sorry to hear you lost your job, that is just added stress you really don't need. Medicaid may or may not cover implants, it depends on what the dentist has to say, ex. if the dentist deems it medically necessary then yes medicaid would cover it. It will cover everything else though, even dentures which I know you don't want but at least you won't be in so much pain anymore, which has got to be pretty unbearable for you by now.

I feel they would just say extractions are nessasry as that would solve the health risk? just make life miserable. Yeah they probably think I use drugs, which I never do. Dreadful looking in the mirror I hate this. No amount of brushing stops it from getting worse.

I know i'm at the edge of giving up now. What a shame.

I wonder why dentures are so undesirable to you? Apologies if you've already explained and I missed it and don't worry about answering if you don't want. I have one friend and she just went through something similar, she only had about 8 teeth left she is in her 50's and most of her teeth were lost due to non drug use. Dentists understand that not everyone with bad teeth uses drugs, my mouth is jacked from a combination of pregnancies and neglect, plus genetics. So many factors play in bad teeth. If it helps, when I read your original post I never thought drug use. At any rate my friend ended up with dentures, she loves them and it happened fairly quickly, I noticed a difference in her attitude right away, she is confidant and no longer embarrassed to eat in public not to mention pain free.
I just want to encourage you not to give up, you seem like a good person and deserve the best life has to offer, I hope you can reconsider getting dentures, perhaps get your life back on track ya know? I just hate to see someone give up. And if you don't want to talk anymore thats fine too.
Hugs

I'm guessing they would probably just extract and then give you dentures. Dentures are really not so bad. The implant thing seems to be more a matter of convenience and cosmetic appeal, and also making a lot more money for dentists. Please don't think having dentures would be worse than death, or really that much different from implants.

Can you give 211 another call, tell them you're unemployed now? You may qualify for medicaid even if you didn't before. You might also be able to go into urgent care at a hospital and get treated if they see it as medically necessary.

Its a 2 year waiting list regardless if I re-apply. If I got to emregency room and get extractions I will feel worse than now. I can't see them providing implants...

It still might be worth calling them anyways just to check if your eligibility changed since leaving your job, or if you can get any form of emergency treatment.

I don't think that's true. There also might be some form of non-emergency extractions that you could get, idk if 211 could help with that but maybe.

With extractions I think you'd have to have a liquid or pureed diet for a while until you got either dentures or implants.

It sounds like you're really attached to the idea of having implants. I can see why someone might find them appealing, but I don't know why you'd prefer death to having dentures.

Just reading through this thread and I am confused. Stoorms have you looked into getting dentures (not implants)? It seems like there are ways for you to get dentures.

Like May, I am wondering why you would prefer death to having dentures.

@stooorms Sorry I thought you were employed? I provided information earlier that says "If you can’t afford the one-time price of dentures, nearly every dentist will agree to installing dentures with a payment plan to help make the procedure more affordable. More often than not, many times — all you need to do is ask "

They may be willing to do this even if you're on unemployment.

Was*

I guess they assume i use drugs which i never do.

I have a few months of rent paid off and less than 400. I won't get anywhere. I already accepted my fate. I wont sit here and pretend or lie.

Really appreciate all the help though, Every payment plan i asked for required half payment up front because of my credit score anyway.
