Yes, i have hydroxyzine. It's mild like Benadryl and begins to work quickly. i have not had any side effects nor become dependent on it. When i was inpatient, i began taking it before every meal to help me handle the meals, as they were extremely stressful for me. i also took it to help me relax before bed. i currently take it before i eat breakfast... and often times before i sleep if i am struggling desperately to sleep.

Thank you. So there are more, maybe a lot more medications being prescribed for anxiety than I thought. One of my big worries with meds is my usual over-reaction to 'everything.' I took Benadryl once, for allergies, and I fainted and fell off my chair at school.
But right now, as I mentioned already, I'm in a terribly rough patch. It's just my guess, but if I can just have a week or 2 of no, or little anxiety I think my body would figure out how to stay calmer.

(h) if you want @AmberMarie . I hope you (and yours) are doing okay, better.

An option, which depends on where you live is medical marijuana. It is used to treat anxiety in many areas of the US now and I will say that it helps me a great deal. The only side effect for me is the munchies and a dry mouth.

Another option is gabapentin (Neurontin) it is not addictive like the benzos are and really does help with anxiety, with little side effects.

I love in a state where marijuana is legal, so that part's not an issue. But, marijuana makes my anxiety much, much worse. Apparently I have an over-sensitive and strange body when it comes to drugs.
lol maybe just generally.

Thank you @Angie. I'll add that one to the list.
We must both be strange. People tell me they use it to relax and help them sleep. I just get major anxiety, I get skipped heartbeats which feel like dramatic thuds and I get convinced I'm about to die, and start thinking my brain has been destroyed and will never go back to normal, so I feel much more anxious if I ever have any. One puff on a joint is enough, and edibles make me anxious and hallucinate even in small amounts. Sorry this isn't much help!

Ever since I was very young I've seen I am neither worse nor better than any other small bit of life. Now it's clearer and sharper. How like an ant I am, one that's slipped into one of those conical little pits of fine sand. You know you're in it, your little legs flail and nervous system heroically bleeps warnings but sadly do not have the tools to get out.

That can easily happen, the feeling of hopeless and helpless. It strikes so many with how the world is, sadly for so many of us as well as you.

I was cleaning out old journals and artwork, lol always fun to bin old stuff. In reading through some of it, I noticed the cycles of moods are pretty extreme. I probably should've gone on some sort of medication after getting back here. That was over a year ago now. I've struggled with this for years oc, but it got worse after the separation. No wonder I'm tired.

I've written this in my journal a hundred times; running and other exercis is an essential thing. Running in particular after about 3 miles, it somehow takes the garbage out of my head and heart.
i am that way with the ocean, mountains, and running water like a river, brook, waterfall. i call it my attitude reset.

i am very grateful to hear that you have something you enjoy to do, also helping you in the long run.... *facepalm yes... pun intended.
