My goal for this month is to do 30 minutes exercise every day and eat healthier, more nutritious food to keep my energy levels up. I do need to lose weight but specifically not setting a target goal because that always puts me off.

Come in folks and join us, lets all get healthier together *grouphug2

I'm not able to leave my section but I'm finally ready to start cooking again. Been eating unhealthy for over a week and feel rubbish from it.
Grocery shopping tomorrow will include foods I have to cook *rofllet's hope I can.
I feel your pain there, i'm struggling to find decent meals, do some googling and see what you can come up with then make your list, good luck *hug Don't forget your 5 a day :)

I am coming out of a short time depression due to covid-19. I try to walk but some days have not pushed myself out of the house. I have gained 2 lbs over the past 2 weeks which is discouraging because I had managed to lose the same 2 lbs the week before. I am trying to pull myself out of this depression by ordering material for projects and get out when I can. I found yesterday that my muffin did not satisfy me the way other breakfast meals do but o wow, did it taste good.. I am not practicing tai chi nor karate due to the depression. The depression is the result of being self isolated and no interaction with people. yes I know this but I can't push myself out the door.

Hi @cymbele

Sorry to hear your depression is affecting you, keep trying to pull yourself out of it as hard as that may seem. Go for a brisk walk maybe when the sun is shining? The boost of vitamin D will help you tons too.

The 2lb gain may be disheartening but you lost it once and you can do so again, we're here to support you. *hug

@cymbele i'm sorry to hear, i think all this stuff going on is sure to make people more depressed *hugwe're all going to have off days, or a off week or two and you know, that's totally okay? in the grand scheme of things if we're going to try be on point for the most part, that's great, when you do reach the stage you want to be, you're going to have an even more ambitious goal after. I wish you well

Thanks @BlackOpium and @britishbloke I am depressed because I am alone 95% of the time due to COVID-19 and I'm the type of person who gets energy being around people. However, I just ordered materials for a craft project and hope to go hiking this weekend. I just have to stop snacking and start getting out and that may take some time. I think once I get involved in a project it will brighten my spirits enough to go outside and then the good cycle begins. I'm glad that I recognized early enough.

Keeping your mind occupied will hopefully help you with some of the depression. Maybe even listening to podcasts might help too, I know my mother listens to radio as she gets a little lonely since the family dog died a few years ago. I hope your hike goes well and reinvigorates you! I'm glad you recognised it early too *hugand well done wanting to do something positive about it, that can be very hard!

I normally get 30 to 40 minutes each day I exercise which is normally 5 days a week with the weekend off. Now that I am working at home I may get more time each day of the work week. I always like to have a day or two each week where it is just off time so that exercise doesn't seem like work, an obligation and chore where you just get tired of doing it. The same holds true for me at least on diet with a cheat day a week or for any time you just want one such as a holiday, your birthday or so.

What kind of exercise do you do @KM76710?
