In my emergency box:

1. Panic attack meds
:sleepy:
2. A phone, so that I can call someone and ask them for help
:phone:
3. Chocolate
:cake: (it's a lie)
4. A good book...something by Neil Gaiman perhaps...
:book:
5. Inspirational quotes
:badger:
6. A Journal
:censored:
7. A sketchpad
:pokeball:
8. A kitty ^^
:cat:

(9. Rocky Horror...)

Hmmm i geuss i'd have to really think of what i'd put in. For starters, however, i would probably definitatly put in:

- Candy, probably gummies of some sort. Actually probably licorice or nibs!
- A journal or paper and pen atleast. Oh and pencil crayons.....
- A picture of my deceased dog and most likely pictures of my current pets although they'd probably be wth me when i open the box...
- Possibly a good book
- A list of a few phone numbers of close friends(doubt i'd call them though) and even possibly hotlines
- Possibly a cd with some of my favourite songs although i'd most likely have my ipod but for whatever reason i might not ill probably add a cd too...
-....... i cant think of anything but i think that's a good start.

Great idea by the way! thanks

my thought space
it's a bottomless box- an abyss that is my emergency box. the tattered crisis team cards are used , worn , recently discarded and my therapist's card is heading towards a similar fate. the dustbin.

it's not much but it's a lot. who'd have thought looking on to an abyss would save my life.
this really doesn't help me at the present moment

my big trouble is my english.. i finally find site, maybe people, that would help me, but my english is so poor, that i can explain all my pains..

I like this idea. I should make one.

-a cute stuffed animal so I have something to hug.
-My ipod- music has been a serious lifeline for me
-My clarinet and my sketchbook
-Something that reminds me of the Washington Capitals.

My box has a picture of my daughter when she was just a little baby. She's 12 at the time of this post and we've grown more closer, if that's possible.

I can't imagine leaving this earth leaving her with so many questions, hatred, and possibly her own suicidal demons.

As I type this, I can't help but tear up.

Sometimes it gets soooo hard. Life becomes so unbearable at times and yet I have to stay strong for my daughter and not let her see this darker side to me.

I love to see her smile. I love the fact that she's nothing like me in that respect. She loves life and loves being a 12 year old.

I wish I could feel the same.

I wish her no sadness. I wish for her to have that smile on her face all day.

You need to keep going then girl, kids give you a reason to go on.. I have no children..... hence the instability in my life.

Kindly take time to read all my postings in the 'Welcome' forum.

Take care of your daughter. xx

emergency box - great idea.
feel bad about being cynical, but mine worked until it just made me feel horribly worse.

and yes, hold on to living for your daughter - but daugheters grow up and don't really need you anymore even tho they love you. And then you're lost. Sorry, I mean me.
God I'm grumpy. sorry. Love! xx

My wedding picture. It was one of the few times in my life I would have said I was genuinly happy - if only for a short time.

It was not long after my wedding everything started to go sour, but thats another story.

My PC. Its the only thing I have to pass the time with.

Hmmm....
I'd put a bunch of music related things into my emergency box. Music from Trent Reznor and Emilie Autumn, posters of them, and such... Music is my emergency helper.
- Pictures of family and friends, to remind myself that people care and that I'd devastate some people if I did anything stupid.
- My phone
- An icee/slurpee machine... haha
- All of my old journals and a new one.
- Paint and paper
- Would my kitty be able to fit and live in there if I put holes on top of the box?

Love the idea.

I'd probably need a really, really big emergency-box, so that my guitar could fit in there (although it might have the opposite effect as I'd be reminded of my lack of skills :p) ^^
And some cheerful music (can one say that? I'm Norwegian, so I'm not always sure what's the appropriate word...), probably some old Sum41 or Blink 182.
And some money, so that I could drag a good friend over to a nice café and have some iced coffee.
And a punching-bag full of pictures of the people I hate, I really wish I had that sometimes.
And my favourite-book (The Every-Boy).
And soap-bubbles! I have this really cute pink frog that croaks and spews soap-bubbles, that I got from my boyfriend! (Although he's cheated on me with the Thing I live with for like half a year, so it might not be the smartest thing to put in there...)
And some Hubba Bubba-bubblegum! I'm not sure if you guys have that, but that shit is amazing.

Sorry about the long post, I'm not sure if I just gave you guys a really weird first impression of me... :p

My therapist had me put together something like this. She calls it a First Aid Kit. The way she had me set it up was 1 thing for each of the 5 senses, that helps ground me and bring me into the present and reminds me of good feelings. I used to have many things for each in there, but it got to where nothing helped much. My therapist thought maybe there was too much in there which made them less special and meaningful, so she had me pare it down to remind me of a specific good time in my life. I change mine up every so often, just to keep it fresh.

Mine is currently set up to remind me of my time at the beach. It has:

sand from the beach (for touch)
seawater (for taste)
a picture of the beach (for sight)
an mp3 player with ocean sounds on it (for hearing)
suntan lotion (for smell)

Before that I had:
an mp3 player with my favorite songs on it
dark chocolate
a picture of my husband and cats
a rose scented candle with a lighter
my first doll

i think the contents of my box shall change depending upon my mental health as one grows worse, the objects become less meaningful until the box itself remains just a box, am not there yet so as of now i keep a schumann cd, my collection of favorite poetic passages, an empty pad and pen which i use frivolously, and a leaf from last autumn - it fell from the bough and kissed my neck as i passed beneath it. i just happened to be feeling morosely disassociated from the ground i was walking on when it gently fell on me, suddenly i found my eyes swelling, ill never forget it.

Im new here but this is already helping some ... makeing the box will at least take my mind off things for a little bit. Not sure what I will put in my box. Do like the idea of money ... but I'm broke ... and don't have a car to get to the store either. Maybe I'll put enough change to get a Pepsi can ride my bike to the store. I will post what I put in my box once I make it
