Went for a 40 minute run. Phone is not logging distance correctly (I'll either run 5k and it will record 4k, or I'll run at my plodding pace and it will record the first mile at 8 minute mile pace which I haven't run in years). It said I'd done 3.5 miles but I'll call it 5k. Anyway, blew a few cobwebs off, fitted in well with the Halloween cobwebs everywhere, and got barked at by a dog πŸ˜‚

No real workout for weeks while settling in after the move, and being sick. Today we walked for 45 minutes around our new neighborhood. The bad news is it's very much a car culture but the good news is we're within easy walking distance of everything including the mall, and most importantly the gym which is about a 15 minute walk away. That will be my cardio, to walk briskly there and back! Plan to join next week.

Smashed it today. Walked 3 miles doing errands and chores, then got running gear on and ran 4 miles in the dusky darkness of the autumn twilight. Still feels warm so only covering my legs, still using summer running tops for now or I overheat.

In protest at the clocks going back and the dark nights closing in here in the UK, I went and ran round the streets in the darkness, managed 5 miles and got up to some nice pace flying through the dark, fortunately I didn't trip over any little kinks on the paving or knock over any little trick or treaters πŸ˜‚

Winter might take the light but it can't extinguish my spirit.

This is inspiring. That sense of flying through the dusky dark air is excellent. Glad you didn't trip over anyone or anything. Back in June I turned an ankle on a run because, srupidly, I looked at the view. :p

That sentence is going on a sticky note next to my running shoes.

That's great, happy to provide inspiration! I've managed to severely bash ribs, crack my head open, get severe road burn on my hands and almost land on a sharp branch chest first over the last 5 years 😲 Still can't keep a good person down, get back up, dust off and carry on!

Did 5k in the wet and stormy UK weather tonight, it was fun - after struggling along with a phone whose GPS was clearly batshit (I got a PB of 45 seconds for 400m πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚), I finally took advantage of my new job and got myself a new running watch. It even does my heart rate an everything. And it lights up when you look at it in the dark, it KNOWS I'm looking at it πŸ˜€ Much better than stuffing my phone in my pocket and hoping it doesn't fall out.
