I recently recommenced my early morning Yoga practice. I practised almost every day for four years, stopped when I strained my lower back lifting something, and couldn't get back into it for several months. I somehow got out of the loop and couldn't motivate myself. It's been about a week, and I'm so stiff, but I do feel a bit more buoyant already.

Nope, not today🥵 Dew point is 67 and the air quality index is ”Unhealthy” (I have asthma.) I walked the pup long enough for her to do her business and that’s it. I’ll walk two miles when the temperature is 0F, but not in high heat and humidity. I did do my shoulder and upper back exercises and stretches.

Today, in the morning I took a short walk. In the afternoon I did some bicep & tricep work, and a couple planks.
I just read that planks are apparently better for you than any other form of exercise, at least for lowering blood pressure. I also read the World Record for one single continuous plank is 9 hours 38 minutes 47 seconds. I only have 9 hours 38 minutes 30 seconds to add to get there 😆🤣🤣🤣🤣 I really need to develop my core!

@AvidFan ... a plank of 9 hours 38 minutes 47 seconds. That's astounding. (Um err bathroom breaks?) I didn't know they help lower blood pressure. That's cool to know.
When I do them regularly hey help stabilize my core. They're not fun at all but are a preventative measure. I have gotten sort of used to 1 minute lol

I thought the same about bathroom breaks, seems an obvious issue but nobody seems to raise this. 🤷 I asked Chat gpt and it said they probably train their bladders as part of the overall training but two of these guys were 60 odd year old men, they clearly have much stronger bladders than mine? Some of these things seem attempts at idiotic self sacrifice rather than something genuinely heroic but then I get irritated by the people who self promote running 300 marathons on 100 days (just 3 marathons a day!) or whatever superhuman feat is the latest as if running a marathon or even a 10k wasn't enough for anyone 🤔

I don't blame you in the least. With the heat being what it is and the other factors mentioned definitely play it safe.

Did 5k in the new running shoes. Haven't run in them since my knee went funny when I got them, so am not sure if the knee issue was down to a) new shoes or b)not running in new shoes properly/doing too much too quick in new shoes. Managed to get round today, in the pouring rain, then did some weights and a few planks (managed 20 second planks, some way to go until the world record, but I beat my own record of 17 seconds 🤣🤣🤣)
