How Are You Feeling Right Now?

I understand that must be upsetting. Have you thought about writing her a letter to take with her when she leaves next week. Something she can read once she gets to her new place, like a letter of encouragement. Maybe put it in a card, like good luck in your new job, with the letter inside.
That's a great idea. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the idea Inastorm.

I had slept through the night and woke up not having a dream about the previous relationship. I felt back to sleep for 10 mins and had a cracking bad dream about the situation and feel terrible today.
I hope your day turns around. Bad dreams are the worst. They leave me stunned. When I was a little girl and had a bad dream, my mother would say, "it's only a dream". I think about this whenever I have one now.

Drunk. They had 4 glass sized miniature bottles of wine for the same price as a full bottle. I figured the first one would be awful but would be nice to have a sip on the beach. I ended up finishing them all. 3 bottles in to my beach crawl, a company who hasn't been in touch for 5 weeks called and WhatsApp saying we have well paid work tomorrow you up fir it? No I fucking am not...

Sorry to mention drinking. I know it may be a trigger for many people. I had a very problematic relationship with alcohol then just lost interest except the occasional foray. Tonight just seemed to be about right. I didn't go and buy more, just watched sunset then went bdck to hotel. Back is aching but hopefully will be better after a sleep!

It's been a while since I've updated.

My ex and I signed the papers together, less than 60 days out from separation. She seemed good, she seemed happy. I made a point to look really good today- did hair, make up, wore a nice dress, smiled, the whole thing. I know I look good right now- I've lost about 28 lbs in a month, which is great as I needed to lose weight drastically anyway. I did not say goodbye when I left, because I couldn't bring myself to look at her for longer than a few seconds- because I realized I feel absolutely no attraction to her at all. I think she hurt me so badly in her response to what I did that she is now repulsive to me? And that has made me feel very guilty and very sad. I hope we can both move on and find real happiness separately from one another. I'm sad, I don't really want to be alive right now, but I'll keep going.
This is exceptionally brave. And, aside from that congratulations on the weight loss.

Sharp painful loneliness and loss. Like heavy crockery is all tangled up with broken edges in my chest. I also had a nightmare with dystopian scenarios, poeple running around with other people's heads, me looking for my partner and then realizing I was alone, then woke up just before dawn. I should'be been starving because I'd skipped dinner. I forced myself to make a good meal despite no appetite. I need to find peace and some friendly people.

At the moment, I have been abstaining from alcohol for over two years. I have developed a strong resistance. The trigger no longer works. I wish the same for you! And for everyone else!

There are a lot of friendly people here, you know :)

I’m really stressed out. My colleague hasn’t been doing his work properly and he took medical leave yesterday and today, so I have a ton of work to do. I’m doing the job of 2, sometimes even 3, people and it’s exhausting. It’s not even unique to this week, this happens all the time and I’m so tired. My colleague is a really nice guy and I don’t feel like talking to him about this. I don’t even know what to say.

I just wish that things worked out for me the way they do for other people. I have to work harder in the military than my colleagues. I have less fun outside of work. I have fewer friends and I’m uglier. I’m such a doomed human being.

Have you tried treating it as your working time? If no one is rushing you, there is no point in getting nervous.

Hi, thank you for your reply :)

I guess I can handle the workload. It’s stressful having to juggle so much but I always manage to clear everything by the end of the day. I just feel really sad that I have to do two or three times the amount of work as my colleagues. It’s so unfair. I feel like I get the short end of the stick more often than not, in virtually every aspect of life, and it hurts :(

It's interesting you mention this. Since about a year ago, although it'd been coming on for longer. I found without trying that i didn't want to have much alcohol. I imbibe a tiny amount once in a while, but have noticed the enjoyment of any more than a couple of sips is just gone.

Since the fourth of July just started minutes ago there's something i feel i should say. I wasn't really sure where to put this message. But this thread seemed like the most appropriate place to put it. I know that in the past I've made some negative comments about my country. But here's the thing. If I wanted to, I could write a long list of things that are wrong with the United States and choose to have a negative attitude about my country for the rest of my life. But at the exact same time, I can also do the opposite. I could write a long list of things that are great about my country and choose to have a positive attitude about it. At the end of the day, a country is just a place where a bunch of people live. In any country, some of these people will be real assholes and even evil. But there are also a lot of great people in the world. I'm not sure what the ratio of good to bad people are in the world, but a country is literally just a bunch of people. And these people come in different flavors. Whatever country you live in, it's completely understandable not to appreciate the government of that country. But not everybody in the world is a part of the government. I'm pretty sure that if you go to any country, whether we're talking about a place like Canada or a place like North Korea, there are probably good people there. I guess what I'm trying to say is that there's a big difference between loving your government and loving your country. Anyways if you're a citizen of the United States I hope you have a good Fourth of July. And if you live somewhere else I hope you have a good day.
