Frustrated. It appears I am in an area with a GP which completely bars me from accessing the MSK self referral service. Other GP practices have a form you just fill in, send to the clinic and they'll triage you. Cannot find a single route where I could do this - you have to be registered with x GP, in z postcode, and mars must be in Venus on August 8th. It's a total joke. Guess I'll carry on self managing and look at the private options it lists in my Fucking NHS ACCOUNT. We are here for you - well actually we're not, so why not fuck off and pay for private treatment..... Also have to look at "Book appointment online...." "Click here to book!"..."Sorry this practice does not offer online appointment booking...." Just take the day off and lose a day's income and call at 8am on the offchance they'll fit you in. Guess I'll muddle on and self manage with my AI assistant. At least it doesn't think I'm dying or in danger - and these things are so risk averse it would have packed me off to A&E if it thought anything was remotely serious.

Very excited, actually. I'm just a bit tired, from long days, currently. Thank you very much, for showing an interest. How are you? x
I'm glad to hear about the excitement! get some rest if you can Bergerac....I'm doing ok, even after just now filling out annual qualifying lengthy forms to receive my expensive neuro meds for free, keeping my fingers crossed after I hit the button, lol.
Let us know how how the job starts, when you start and how it's going. And if you want to share with me where the abroad is, I'd love to know if you feel ok with sharing!!

Sorry your having trouble. You don't need to self refer though. Any AHP can refer you into physio. Book an appointment with a advanced nurse practitioner and he/she will refer you. At the same time, explore private options, but still keep yourself on the NHS awaiting list for physio, in case any private physio doesnt given you the results you are expecting and it's better to see the NHS physio so you can get the information onto your medical record.
See how you get on :)

My surgery doesn't do routine appointments though. This is what I keep saying. You have to ring at 8am and half the time it's "sorry try again tomorrow". this isn't just me. It's all over the surgery reviews with people saying they've rang at 7.59am for 2 weeks. I just don't have the energy. I envy people who have better surgeries where they can book a practitioner of their choice but it's not like that in my situation. They won't book ANY appointments. Not with ANP, not with GP, not with anyone. Unless you win the 8am lotto, and I can't afford to mess work about, it's bad enough as it is.

@AvidFan
That's pretty terrible, no wonder the nhs is in such a state.
Fear of aggregating the situation, but I can't help ask another question to try and help. Some surgeries offer e-consultations and/or the ability for you to email the practice. Some people email the surgery saying they are struggling to get an appointment and could you take a telephone consultation if there is any cancelations. Might be an idea to check the surgery website, but I suspect you probable have done this already.

I think I do actually have their email. They actually kept bugging me to come in and get my blood pressure taken as I hadn't been seen for years... As I have a machine I emailed the numbers in and actually got a reply to say they'd logged it. Maybe I'll drop them an email. I could likely get an appointment if I lied and used the right trigger phrases but I'm not manipulative like that and I think back pain would be well at the back of their triage list. Especially weird intermittent back pain like I have.

It's not manipulating to tell them how much it is effecting your functioning and your quality of life, which it appears it is, where it is also effecting your mental health. Don't play it down, as it sounds like a nightmare for you when it flares up. Your just only aiming for a MSK appointment not major surgery.
