I’m kind of okay today. That’s fine for me. Of course there are things aggravating me, but at least I’m not making that into a five alarm fire in my head. I’m occasionally aware if the fact that I am neither required to beat myself up for having mental health issues, nor do I have to, as if it were involuntary. So that’s a plus.

The minus is that my intrusive thoughts are accelerating, which is draining and limits how much productivity I can muster daily.

Somewhat confused. I have some thinking to do and knew that I did a couple of weeks ago and the time is here to do it.
I'm in New Mexico again. Heading back towards the end of the week. No matter how old we get we still don't know everything. Or is that anything?.....:)
I think that the more we learn, the more aware we are that there is so much that we don’t know and have to accept that there is barely time to scratch the surface. This is why scientists have to depend on the discoveries of those who came before them, and also the literal meaning of what Plato wrote about wisdom being the realization that the knowledge we have is negligible compared to how much we would have to comprehend to truly understand.

Nicely stated.

I’m tired. My friend is contemplating suicide thoughts and I can’t help him and I’m overwhelmed with choices about what to do with my own life. Work sucks and I had traditionally liked my job. Every where I turn it seems like I get screwed. Knowing that I am in a better position than my friend I am still depressed about life. Then you add the guilt.

no I don’t want to recommend sf to my friend because I would lose my anonymity and safe place. But he needs a therapist but he wouldn’t go when he had health insurance because he could “man up “ and tough it out. I lose my one free day to myself because he needs a resume done and it’s the only time I have free. So thanks to you people at sf for letting me vent.

In a doleful mood day and night. When I’m enjoying myself, I can live another day, but when I’m upset or disappointed, I no longer care; I just want to die. Moments of joy may as well be a bad joke in the face of sorrow.
Hey, M. Just reminding that we can't feel happy all the time. Try to take more notice of when you feel moments of joy. Emotions are supposed to go up and down. I've found that the way to appreciate life more is to accept what you feel at any given moment; then you are more likely to feel content, even during sorrowful moments. I know it's easier said than done. For me, it took a major breakthrough and drastic changes to my thoughts and beliefs.

I'm also feeling grateful for sf. Just really need, virtual or not, to be around people who get it. I have nobody to talk about irl without causing huge issues and upsetting people. So, I keep quiet.
Me too.
I did have a couple of old work people who would message me but i got the impression they were not liking me talking about my situation, they stopped contacting me.

My sister is getting really cross with me about talking about the situation.
