I'm skeptical that it leads to healthy weight loss. For one thing, increased thoughts of suicide are sometimes a side effect.

@Lane apart from the - what I consider a strange response pushing a drug for weight loss - I hope the doctor visit and check up feels like you took a step in caring for yourself. It's an acomplishmnet. You're brave to make and attend the appointment. Well done. (This from somenone who hasn't had a western medicine check up in about two hundred years)

I appreciate that but I don't want to be a burden on Noone. I feel its have to do this alone. I cant put on you guys. Everyone here has enough going on and I feel its ain't helping them or you by telling how im messed up and my life totaled. Everyone here deserves better. I don't want to waste anybodys time. Curiouser and curiouser. I went to another surgeon on the hip today. Better bedside manner but after more x-rays his conclusion is that the hip is fine and this time I saw the x-rays And agree. Going next to a MRI if cardiology agrees that it is safe for me. I may not need surgery but it is a maybe. The pain is still there. Glad I went for a second opinion.

Sorry you are still in pain @cymbele. That's really good about the doctor having better communication skills. I have heard from a friend who is a general practice doctor that surgeons are not usually reknowned for relating well to people.

If you do the MRI or not, we are thinking of you with care.

I was considering something like that also, but as you mention, I'm terrified of the side effects. I've had the worst luck with that.

Glad you did too. Can you for a third (just out of curiosity to see if he or she will also lean towards no surgery) I’m glad you feel ok with the decision what are they going to do for the pain now?

I don’t know. I’m trying not to use my 800mg ibuprofen because they might not give me enough for my three weeks trip next month. And it’s like a six or eight hour plane ride when sitting causes the most pain. I think this doctor will investigate more than the other doctor. I feel comfortable about that.

I don’t know. I’m trying not to use my 800mg ibuprofen because they might not give me enough for my three weeks trip next month. I hope that this new one does do further looking into things. You can take 800mg from ibuprofen over the counter if you run out of the ones that are 800mg from the doc. Just sayin.....I know long plane rides can be brutal on the body....
