not doing so good at the moment. i suffered heat exhaustion last week during the heat wave. pain is generally better since my doctor raised my morphine but the last week or so i had 3 really bad pain days which took hours to finally get it down a little. i'm tired of pain

I hope it cools down there AND stays cooled down. I know a lot of heat effects my breathing. Did not do that when I was young. Just another one of those little 'blessing' of getting old. I do hope you have air conditioning to help you deal with it.

I am sorry to read depression and si are back for you. You're not alone. I am hoping there is some medication which helps but doesn't blunt everything. That issue is why I have all along refused medication but as a result I have quite a bit of disfunction now and then, and sometimes cannot even do my work (paint).
One of the ways I define myself is through creativity, when that's missing, there's not much left to offer, for myself or anyone else.
I hope your p'doc can understand and really get the importance of this, when they're prescribing meds.

Feeling ambivalent. Went to a church gathering called create and connect where we decorated vases. The ladies there talked of their mission work and faith in God. I have to admit, I lean more towards atheism. However, I have been going to church bcz of the message at the Sunday sermons. Its a vibrant church.

The problem is I feel hypocritical, attending the create and connect and not being immersed in the faith. I dont really want to go back, but one of the ladies asked for info on Healthcare and I said I'd give it to her next time, so im obligated. This all has been weighing on my mind. Is it OK to attend this and church even if I have my doubts? I know this might be better in the faith section. Thank you.
So much will depend on the leader of the church. The long time Baptist preacher out here for 70 years before he died close to 100 years of age welcomed anybody seeking. The could be atheist, Baptist any denomination or other religion and seeking guidance he may have. The Second Commandment was in place for any person on the grounds.

On one hand I am looking forward to being home in a few days. Both because I miss it and 2) I can get a break from my traveling friend. Maybe I am tired but I’m disappointed that I missed some things in Seattle that I wanted to see and missed hiking in the national park. Guess I will have to revisit in a few years. My friend has stopped berating me but I am still playing tour guide in an area where I have no knowledge of. I need a break and that will be Friday night. Thank goodness for that.

Thank you so much for helping me with my church question. Im going to be honest if it comes up about my faith quest. Honestly, I feel the need for spirituality in my life. However, I feel that all of my hardships, Growing up as a foster child, living in a group home, bad relationships, through my own strength and others along the way I've managed it. Im not convinced that God had his hand in it. I hope this doesn't offend anyone.

The ideations are strong.

Today, I'm regretting that a few years ago, I walked away from a method that fulfilled every requirement. I'll never have that option again, but death wasn't something I wanted then.
Also today, less desirable methods are coming to the surface for consideration. I'm not in immediate danger though.
The indicators of clinical depression are there, and then life circumstances have piled up also. My emotions are shutting down, I've been withdrawing and pulling inward. When I'm in pain or angry or confused, there's little input accepted, and little output offered, until I feel better centered.
I have an appointment with my psych doc next week, at the urgings of my sister and my therapist. I'm anticipating potential med changes, which I resist. I would prefer no meds at all, some of the negative feelings are blunted, but so is everything else, it all blurs into gray. I'm numb. However, the times I've quit taking meds, life got intensely weird. But not so different than what the past couple of weeks have been, so stopping them again doesn't seem consequential. It seems like an opportunity to escape from some of the side effects, some of which are a quality of life issue.
One of the ways I define myself is through creativity, when that's missing, there's not much left to offer, for myself or anyone else.

Im glad you posted how you feel @1Lefty. I hope the suicidal ideations lessen and your aplointment goes well. I understand having creativity as an outlet and I wish that for you.

In fact the opposite of offend is how I respond. Using one's mind in tasks like considering, doubting, thinking, pondering, etc. - is your right as a living being. If anyone tells or even implies to you that in order to belong to their group or church you're required to unequivocally accept all their beliefs; I'd say get away quickly from that sort.
