Feeling bad its been a real bad week I lost my job recently and I had a phone appointment with the job Centre this week was already not doing well as it was the 5th UK heatwave anyway I have to job search for 20 hours every 2 weeks but my advisor who rang said the 11 jobs I applied for was not enough in 70 hours I should do not sure where 70 came from

also broke my glasses woke up to find the arm broke and cannot be fixed so now I wearing an old pair which I have issues seeing with but cannot afford new ones just yet

also my old issue is kicking in again any little twinge of anything form my teeth and I go down hill fast

this is my life its just bad on bad

Honestly I know very little about seizures, except that certain anti-seizure meds also have a mood stabilizing effect. I'm on Lamotrigine, for example. I had another one earlier, V- something, but that did utterly nothing. Is it quite unusual for a seizure problem to have a "breakout" of symptoms, as in your case? What I'm wondering (since you mentioned your nursing background) is that maybe the body just changes over time requiring periodic medication evaluations.
That’s probably the case the neurologist was a bit baffled since the seizures are so low grade to begin with from the small spot that just appeared on my brain about 4 years ago and the small change in med dosage stopped things quickly. It was my curiosity that provoked me asking for a scan to be done which is not my normal direction but it is the brain so I am prone to explore the situation further just for clarity. Thanks so much!

I'm sorry. I hope it can improve just a little bit, it's horrible when all these things happen at once.

That’s bizarre. Why the gender discrimination in prescriptions for antibiotics? I’m aware of the science around the idea of only using antibiotics when an infection is known for certain. Some people want antibiotics for every common cold or respiratory infection, which are viral about 99.9% of the time. And this is how we end up with antibiotic resistant bacteria.

You have a test strip, that I assume is proof positive of a UTI, so it’s appropriate to prescribe antibiotics barring any other complications. I’m wondering how the equipment between your legs factors into this decision. IIRC, women are more prone to UTIs by way of the geometric differences between male and female parts.

Still, once an infection is identified, what else could it be? I am just thinking in electronic words; please don’t feel pressured to answer this speculation, lol.
That's exactly it - in men they automatically treat it as complicated UTI because the plumbing should technically protect from these infections happening - longer urethra etc. But it's not infallible. Also they need to do sensitivity testing on samples, etc.

As it happens, I finally managed to speak to someone who listened and was given another 7 days to try to clear it up. The bug on last sample was the same as on the first one, almost proving beyond doubt that this is an under treated infection and not a new one. Unfortunately they are also trying to nudge me down a cancer testing pathway which I think is far too early and causing me anxiety. Have also been referred to a urologist. If it's like 2019, the infection will clear and then I'll be left with a load of tests and appointments for something that has gone. I do hope it clears it this time but will leave the referrals in place and assess later.

I’m getting a feeling that the urologist is likely your best bet. My experience with being bounced around among a few specialists and ultimately ended up being sent to a urologist who gave me some homework and if it didn’t resolve there’s a clearly defined series of interventions.

It ends at surgery, but the surgery is basically to disable a muscle that is chronically contracted. I think that sounds like sweeping the whole problem under the rug, because only the symptom is addressed but whatever is wrong with my neuromuscular coordination is still not healthy. The upshot is that the urologist was able to connect various symptoms to get a possible explanation for why this is happening and what it means after plans A & B don’t work out.

I do believe that there are answers somewhere, and I also believe that the individual is the foremost expert on what’s going on internally. If you are pretty sure that cancer testing is premature, then I think it’s appropriate to press the doctor or nurse about why they think it’s time for that. I know that some providers just follow a flow chart without taking into account the patient’s self reporting. If they cannot address the prior question, then you likely have an answer.

You don't ask someone with an eating disorder what they ate and whether it tasted good...you just don't do it. It makes them uncomfortable. I told my bf that in the gentlest way I possibly could and I still upset him. He said I shouldn't feel uncomfortable talking to him about anything :/ I can't help it. Food and talk of food does make me uncomfortable. Whether it's him I'm talking to or anyone else. It just does.

Yeah I think it was flowchart medicine at its best. I've moved to later date for now and will see what happens with infection in the meantime (aside from anything else the national guidelines say the initial blood test should not be carried out within 6 weeks of a UTI and they had it booked for this Saturday....

At least I should get the rest of the week off from the alien invasion, who knows maybe the doubling up will work.

I feel utterly worthless. I’m sinking deeper and deeper into a mind-numbing depression. I want to do the things that I know are my best chance at getting better. I feel trapped. How does a person get better when they’re too depressed to even make a plan for one day?
I realize I may be preaching to the choir here, but I think taking tasks 15 minutes at a time, at the top of the hour is usually effective in getting some momentum.

It is like we get stuck in the mud and it is a struggle to break free.

I hope you feel/do better soon.

This is good, thank you. I will work to implement that.

The image of being stuck in the mud describes the feeling with poignant accuracy.

Of course, I already knew this, but I need reminders when I go off the rails. There are times when the depression is so dense that it's like a dark, cloudy fog that makes it nearly impossible to notice anything else. In other words, I forget the most basic things, unfortunately in those times when I need them most. You reminded me, and now I have something to try at the least. :)
