Strange. I could have sworn I was tired all day because I didn't get enough sleep the night before, so I went to bed early, but couldn't sleep for some reason. Now I'm up again and confused. I thought about lying down several times throughout the day for a nap even, but never did, and now that it's time, I can't fall asleep.

It's been awful lately. Been getting to sleep but waking up far too early. Currently feeling totally exhausted and it's 3.36am and I'm wide awake. Sleep doesn't even seem possible right now. All I need is sleep and my stupid brain won't do it. Just telling myself I survived the wildest benzo withdrawal insomnia earlier in the year so I can survive another shitty night but it's just horrible being too tired to do anything but totally unable to sleep. I was worried something would creep up and spoil the start of the holidays and looks like it's going to be Zero Sleep Mode. It's no wonder really, I've been on the go for so long it's going to take a few days to wind down. Probably 🤷

Got to sleep maybe 4.30am. Just woke up at 8.30am and got up. No point lying there awake. Hopefully some rest will reset my brain 🤔 And use the holidays to stop buggering about with valerian as am sure it's been causing rebound effects and have been dosing to get to sleep then rinse and repeat. Still better than being on benzos.

Every couple of nights the same damn nightmare happens. I'm glad to be sleeping solidly for most of the night. But, I wake up and the anxiety hits, triggered by the memory of the very bad dream. It's hard to want to go to bed when I'm facing this adversary.

i can understand this fully! When nightmares plague me, i refuse to even try to get sleep. Nightmares can be so very vivid and realistic, which can make anxiety skyrocket. And it's difficult to determine the difference sometimes, between reality and dream. i don't have any advice on how to combat this. It has plagued me since i was a toddler. But i am listening and understanding. Also sending supportive hugs.

I took one of my electrolyte tablets before bed the last couple of nights and sleep was much more peaceful, solid. Usually I take these for recovery after a sweaty run & workouts, but was thinking maybe I'm dehydrated at night. So, I may have found how to get the nightmares to stop or at least not happen as often. Thank you for the hugs and they're returned @AmberMarie. I hope you don't have them anymore.

Been tired all night, no idea why I was feeling so tired. In the end caved in and went to bed at 11.30pm despite it being new years eve. Felt the blissful onset of sleep and was going under when fireworks jerked me awake and looks like that's my one and only sleep cue used up. Feel like shit, might be stopping the valerian but only way to see is to take some. At least when I was withdrawing from diazepam I knew what was wrong with me, at the moment I can't explain this bone deep fatigue. So tired but can't sleep. Story of my life. 😧
