That's the thing, I've been eating pretty much the same. And ever since I quit my job, I haven't done much except sit on my ass. Walked to the store a few times, but that's about it. I was walking a lot more when I was working, and I weighed more then.
Yeah perhaps you were building some muscles then, now they are relaxing and much lighter. It's a valid theory at least.

I think I am back on the wagon. After 2 months of losing nothing and actually gaining a few I am back to the dietitian and lost 2 lbs. She is encouraging me to use an app called "Loseit" for tracking my calories. It's awful to see what I am consuming and I feel that I am almost hungry most of the time. Of course, I snack a lot. I try to exercise every other day but it is simply overwhelming some days after work to contemplate exercise. Also I am starved by the time I get home. But enough of my rant. I am back and trying.

After not working out for a couple of days I’m finally going to get the chance to here in a few minutes. I can’t wait, it may have only been 2 days but it seems a lot longer. Definitely better for my mental health when I get to work out, I’ve really noticed how bad I’ve felt mentally since not working out (yes there are other reasons too for my crappy mental health feelings but I at least have some control over them when I work out).

I am pretty sure what your dietitian is talking about is belonging to this sub reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/loseit/

I've read good things about it, but its not free, i'm not sure how much it costs but I think myfitnesspal.com does the same thing for free. Track your calories and try not to have any empty calories meaning no soft drinks or foods with zero nutritional value except for when you think you deserve a treat. Eat filling hearty foods, carbs give you energy and protein fills you up, so I would eat more protein if I were you to feel less hungry and avoiding crashing down and giving into temptation. Eat a big protein filled breakfast and that should set you up for the day ahead and avoid hunger pangs.

Congrats on your weight loss, keep it up *hi5

Weight loss is far from instant but with little things we do for our health every day we become slimmer and healthy over a long period of time. Try to lose 1-2lbs a week and no more than that.

As for the exercise, you could start with a brisk 20 minute walk in the morning after your protein filled breakfast and just move more when possible, well done for getting back on the wagon :) I know its far from easy but once you are on the wagon try not to over-do it, slow and steady wins the race as they say!!

Also, I do have one more tip for you, Chromium is a natural appetite suppressant, you can find it in the vitamins section of the pharmacy.

I lost 2.1 lbs this week, although I am sure most of the weight I am losing is muscle from not being able to go to the gym. I'm currently very unhappy with my physical self. I'm tempted by old habits and bad behaviors. It's really self harm in a way, just in a different way.

It's okay, it happens, but it doesn't mean tomorrow you will do the same. Don't give in to the old bad habits, even if you don't go to the gym for a while. Every day is a new beginning.

You must try and look at the overall picture not just 1 week. Just because you think you might have had a setback don't let it lead to prior habits, I struggle with this myself so I know how hard it is. Keep up the good work at not giving into old habits. A new day is a fresh start :)
