we do sometimes get "punished" for our good deeds but in our heart we know that we've done the right thing. and if you are right in your heart you are a happy person. and I've got a horrible suggestion that may help.
when i wanted my wife to get her license i started complaining every time i drove her someplace. i got her friends at work to co-operate and say how much of a burden she was which killed them but it worked she finally tried, she wanted her license she just needed a push.
if you do things now for your father that you won't have to do after the surgery say so. don't be disrespectful just say things like i have to help you with this but i wouldn't have to if you had the surgery. i know it will hurt you a lot to keep doing this but if it pushes him into neccessary surgery it's worth it. obviously after a couple of months stop if it doesn't work and if it does work tell him why you did it after the surgery. it's mean but it could help him...mike...
