1. How are you doing today?
What's the plan for the week?
-- exhausted. Just finished up my first day alone at the new job doing admin office work. Answering phones and emails non-stop is rough... Especially when you don't know all the answers to questions..

2. Veganuary Month : what's your favourite meatless (or vegan!) recipe? no idea about vegan stuff.
Any kind of sweets is always a hit with me. ☕🍪

3. Hot Tea Month : what tea flavour do you drink? What's the only right way to drink tea? Milk or not?

Deoends on the tea. My favorite tea is Jasmine green tea, I can do that with or without milk. Chai tea I prefer with milk. Peach or Hibiscus is good without. Peppermint without milk.

4. Soup Month : do you like cooking your own soup?
Yeah, its easy and hearty. Tomato basil, Curry, Thai coconut, broccoli cheddar, french onion, and miso are my fave.

5. Oatmeal Month : what is your go-to breakfast?

Ooof. Its oatmeal and kefir. And fruit.
Or just a banana and kefir. Probiotic yogurt. Good for a messed up stomach. Which I have often.

6. Bittersweet Chocolate Day : which chocolate is the best? super dark and bittersweet.

Hi everyone! :) I hope you're having a smooth and peaceful beginning of the year, and if not, there is the whole year in front of you for it to get better!

Today's theme is food! Because January seems to be all about food.

1. How are you doing today? What's the plan for the week?
2. Veganuary Month : what's your favourite meatless (or vegan!) recipe?
3. Hot Tea Month : what tea flavour do you drink? What's the only right way to drink tea? Milk or not?
4. Soup Month : do you like cooking your own soup?
5. Oatmeal Month : what is your go-to breakfast?
6. Bittersweet Chocolate Day : which chocolate is the best?

1. Plan for the week: participate in second panel interview via Zoom on Monday afternoon. Hopefully entertain job offer and salary negotiations later in the week.
2. Favorite vegan recipe: not sure I have a fave. I like vegetables and don't eat much meat as it is, though am not a dedicated vegetarian or vegan. I am very fond of hummus for dipping or as a smear on a veggie sandwich.
3. Favorite tea: Sleepy Time. No milk.
4. Soup: Love to make my own soup! Your post has inspired me to make a fresh pot this week. Will report back on what I make!
5. Go to breakfast: fresh fruit with fat free yogurt and honey and flax seeds.
6. Which chocolate is best? Can we have a tasting before I decide?!?!! Am not a fan of milk chocolate. Dark chocolate for the win! Chocolate is a weakness of mine!

Great thread @Auri !

Happy belated New Year to all!

1. How are you doing today? What's the plan for the week?

I'm doing ok, pretty hum drum weekend, but off tomorrow and leaving next Sunday for a ten day hiking smorgasbord in Far West Texas so excited about that...this week will be work interspersed with trip preparations...

2. Veganuary Month : what's your favourite meatless (or vegan!) recipe? I like a lot of vegan/vegetarian dishes. Meatless chili and spicy stir-fry Chinese vegetables are two favorites.

3. Hot Tea Month : what tea flavour do you drink? What's the only right way to drink tea? Milk or not? I'll drink iced tea in the heat of summer, not a big hot tea drinker, though I will drink a cup or two of plain old Lipton with honey if I'm sick with a cold, which isn't often. Coffee, on the other hand....

4. Soup Month : do you like cooking your own soup? Love making soup, though haven't in some time. I need a new set of pots! I make a mean potato/leek soup and a pretty good minestrone..

5. Oatmeal Month : what is your go-to breakfast? Usually whole-grain cereal and a banana, with the obligatory cup or three of French roast (cream, no sugar)

6. Bittersweet Chocolate Day : which chocolate is the best? Anything by Toblerone!

1. How are you doing today? What's the plan for the week?

Gosh! I wouldn't know where to start :-(

2. Veganuary Month : what's your favourite meatless (or vegan!) recipe?

I have so many. Love anything with potatoes, tofu, chickpeas or lentils

3. Hot Tea Month : what tea flavour do you drink? What's the only right way to drink tea? Milk or not?

from time-to-time I'll have a cup of (black) tea with a dash of soya milk. My go to teas are green tea, lemon n ginger or peppermint, without milk.

4. Soup Month : do you like cooking your own soup?

Yes, I make soup a lot - cheap, nourishing and lasts a few days. Particularly good in winter.

5. Oatmeal Month : what is your go-to breakfast?

I'm not really a breakfast-person, so I usually miss it ... Occasionally, I'll have a bowl of porridge. Yesterday, I had tomatoes and toast.

6. Bittersweet Chocolate Day : which chocolate is the best?

I like chocolate, but it doesn't like me!

I may make potato/leek soup this week. Thinking some kale would be a lovely addition, and ground black pepper! Thanks for the inspiration!

Please be safe on your hiking adventure! Won't it be a bit chilly?!? Look forward to hearing more about it!
It is desert 🏜️ hiking (Big Bend and environs), so temps in the 70s, though nights will be chilly. I'm pretty familiar with the area, this will be my fourth outing, so will be well-prepared. Not a region to mess around with lightly, as it is pretty rough, remote and unforgiving country, but that's precisely what appeals to me about it!💖

Feeling some envy here! Sounds fantastic! Please be very safe and make sure you have access to plenty of water!

Thanks for the tag @Auri !
1. How are you doing today? What's the plan for the week?
I had a pretty good day. Not many plans besides going to my therapist appointment on Tuesday and watching the Caps and Spurs games as they come up. Maybe go to Dunkin tomorrow.
2. Veganuary Month : what's your favourite meatless (or vegan!) recipe?
I don't cook very much, but I can definitely appreciate vegan food. There's this fun vegan restaurant in my city that's rock/metal themed, and they sometimes have this appetizer called Bunn O))) which is bao buns with enoki mushrooms, and it's one of the most delicious things I've tasted. There was also this vegan place in the San Francisco Bay area when I lived out there (started as a food truck, became an actual restaurant, and now the owners have a different restaurant) and one of the items they'd frequently have on their menu was a potsticker burrito, which was not only really good, but I also just thought it was a fun dish.
3. Hot Tea Month : what tea flavour do you drink? What's the only right way to drink tea? Milk or not?
I don't tend to judge people for the way they drink tea, but I mostly just drink it plain. I also like tea in fun flavors. My favorite of all time is this chocolate peppermint bark flavor herbal tea I have. Peach or cinnamon apple are good. Chai is awesome, and I'll drink chai lattes or just plain chai. Peppermint tea and jasmine green tea are other favorites. If I went to England or something and was drinking tea with others, I'd probably just have it the way whoever I was with was having it, because when it comes down to it, I'm really not that picky anyway.
4. Soup Month : do you like cooking your own soup?
I love soup, but I hate cooking, so I'll sooner reach for a can.
5. Oatmeal Month : what is your go-to breakfast?
Usually I don't eat breakfast, but I love sweet things like chocolate chip pancakes.
6. Bittersweet Chocolate Day : which chocolate is the best?
Dark chocolate is my favorite. Typically the darker the better (probably up to a point.) There's this one chocolate bar I love that's dark chocolate with crystallized ginger. Just ate one the other week because I got my roommates chocolate bars for Christmas, and I bought a variety because I didn't know who would want what, so I had two extras and was able to keep that one and the peppermint one for myself.

Sorry,, I didn't realize there was a question/answer thing going on. But hey, I waited until the present time to answer. Except I guess if there are any Australians it might be tomorrow again. Ugh idk. Ok anyway!

1. How are you doing today? What's the plan for the week?
Ok so I have to go today to refill my meds, which is out of town. So that's something. I guess that's about it. Rest of the week.... I don't know. I ordered the first of the Dark Tower comic series in hardcover and that should be in Tuesday, so look out for that!

2. Veganuary Month : what's your favourite meatless (or vegan!) recipe?
What even is this?! A meatless recipe... Probably gonna be an awesome salad or baked macaroni & cheese.

3. Hot Tea Month : what tea flavour do you drink? What's the only right way to drink tea? Milk or not?
I'm from the South, we don't drink hot tea. We drink iced tea with a pound of sugar in it

4. Soup Month : do you like cooking your own soup?
I've never made my own soup. Is that something people do?! Do people make their own soup? It doesn't seem like it would be worth the effort. It's just soup...

5. Oatmeal Month : what is your go-to breakfast?
Regret

6. Bittersweet Chocolate Day : which chocolate is the best?
Not bittersweet. The BEST chocolate I guess would be a nice milk chocolate. I really love a super super dark chocolate, but it's kinda gross too. But I like it. Shrug. As Michael Scott said: "That's why I hate bittersweet chocolate. I don't even-- What's the point of that? Why not just sweet? I mean who- who are you helping? "

Thanks for the tag, @Auri! I hope you and everyone here are doing well.

1. How are you doing today? What's the plan for the week?

Feeling rested after getting 2 bonus days off this week due to snow. I have to work for the next 5 days, which is blah, but I’m trying to make the best of it. The rest of the week will be an attempt at a new self/home care routine, so I’m feeling optimistic

2. Veganuary Month : what's your favourite meatless (or vegan!) recipe?

I don’t eat a lot of meat as it is. I like vegetarian chili, stir-fry (which is great since there are so many combinations), also veggie bowls, for a lack of a better name. These bowls are simple, and have ample variety. You can mix rice or beans of any kind, with any veggies, which leaves many options. Top these with cheese, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, teriyaki or soy sauce; not all at once, obviously lol. But there are so many options. Just don’t forget the spices :) They make everything taste so great

3. Hot Tea Month : what tea flavour do you drink? What's the only right way to drink tea? Milk or not?

I don’t drink hot tea much, but I do like it. I live in the south, so I grew up on sweet tea, and still love it.

4. Soup Month : do you like cooking your own soup?

Yes! Soup is simple, and always feels nourishing. My go-to’s are loaded potato, broccoli and cheddar, white chicken chili, and vegetable

5. Oatmeal Month : what is your go-to breakfast?

Toast, oatmeal, or sometimes donuts. Oatmeal always makes me feel the fullest, obviously. I like making my own oatmeal, but instant is easier 😝

6. Bittersweet Chocolate Day : which chocolate is the best?

I don’t care much for the taste of dark chocolate, but love candy bars and cookies too much. I can’t really decide on just one since I like so many :)

1. How are you doing today? What's the plan for the week?
Pretty stressed to be honest, I have 7 upcoming exams and I an falling behind. I hope I'll be able to pass them !

2. Veganuary Month : what's your favourite meatless (or vegan!) recipe?
Trid, it's not technically vegan but I could eat the meatless version everyday.

3. Hot Tea Month : what tea flavour do you drink? What's the only right way to drink tea? Milk or not?
If I had to choose my favourite would be mint tea but closely followed but rose, grenade and hibiscus white tea ! Putting milk in tea is a heresy.

4. Soup Month : do you like cooking your own soup?
I'e never made soup in my life but I should try !

5. Oatmeal Month : what is your go-to breakfast?
I love eggs, whatever their form. Some seasonal fruits would be ideal. And the drink depends on the season.

6. Bittersweet Chocolate Day : which chocolate is the best?
I love white chocolate and I'm ready to fight any kind of criticism

Good luck on your exams, I hope everything goes well.

Happy New Year @Auri and Everyone!!!
and Thank you @Tor for the tag!

Today's theme is food! Because January seems to be all about food.

1. How are you doing today? What's the plan for the week? these days i don’t have a plan for the week. my intensive therapy ended, my other program for childhood sexual abuse ended a couple weeks ago, my poetry group has taken a turn in a direction that is not suitable for me. so i’ve got to rebuild now instead of attend. we’ll see how that goes.
2. Veganuary Month : what's your favourite meatless (or vegan!) recipe? i have a bit of a problem with meatlessness. i constantly feel remorse, guilt and discomfort concerning eating animals, but they eat us too. i know my feelings might be declining in popularity and rightly so, but i can’t help feeling that i’d be vegan if only i did not have to give up meat. i can’t swear to it that this is a purely trained trait. i know others don’t agree. this is a dilemma that doesn’t go away. but my spirituality tells me that it is the same for plant life too. i believe spirits are everywhere and that is where consciousness and conscience live too. i won’t get into my own spiritual beliefs here now, but it does play a major role in how i live and i’d have to give up eating altogether if i were to go with the belief that eating is purely killing. i must say so emphatically, that this is tormenting to me, i’m not being glib. i do believe that the unnatural is actually natural and that is a state we humans need to deal with and hopefully we are evolving toward.
3. Hot Tea Month : what tea flavour do you drink? i love a few teas as my favorite. assam, earl grey, japan green teas, lapsang souchong, gun powder. ( i do not consider herbals etc to be tea btw - and they are not on any favorite list of mine ) What's the only right way to drink tea? Milk or not? milk is appropriate in some situations and in those situations it is the right way to have tea. this must be on a case by case basis. tea with lemon is good too - maybe even with lemon or milk and some sugar - sweetened according to taste and case by case too. i generally have my tea without anything added beyond the tea and water. water should not be boiled but brought almost to a boil. it is best to brew with loose tealeaves in a tea pot. after 6 minutes max, remove the tea leaves (can be in an infuser of one sort or another) and stir the brew, then pour the essence into a cup according to your own personal preference, and water to dilute appropriately and savor! tea is a personal thing and should be enjoyed by the drinker so this is the truly right way to drink tea. and that includes those others mentioned above that i do not consider tea. so to put it this way, the right way to drink tea is enjoyably.
4. Soup Month : do you like cooking your own soup? yes but really good soup takes a lot of effort
5. Oatmeal Month : what is your go-to breakfast? oatmeal is one of my favorites. (not instant please) i also love wheatena, grape nuts, and bran flakes and shredded wheat. i also love love love bagels with cream cheese and topped generously with lox! nothing else and served with a cup of not tea but coffee - black but i’ve mentioned before and worth it again. coffee is great with heavy sweet cream floated on top. its fairly easy to do using a spoon.
6. Bittersweet Chocolate Day : which chocolate is the best? what is it???… 75% cacao? maybe!!!
