1) Do you get much exercise? and if so, what do you do?
-- starting to make an effort. Every other day. The gym, or hike the mountain. Stretching.

2) What do you do to keep your mind active?
-- Listen to music. Go outside get sunlight and coffee. Do chores.

3) What do you do to counter the extra emotional strain from all the crap these past 2 years?
-- Listen to music. Cry. Write letters to mom or dad. Journal. Talk to therapist.

4) Do you remember to eat healthily? What do you eat most days?
-- I've been doing good not ignoring hunger. Trying to cut out sugar.

5) How has your mental, physical and emotional health changed these past 2 years?
--- worst 2 years of my life. 🙃 everything possible in life, has changed... I'm still here. I think I'm doing okay.

1) Do you get much exercise? and if so, what do you do?
Not as much as I'd like since I started working again, but granted, I'm also on my feet for 8-10 hours 5 days a week, so I suppose that counts too. But I'm still paying for a gym membership that I haven't been using really, so I need to either get my ass over there more often or stop paying lol.

2) What do you do to keep your mind active?
Active?? My mind is already plenty active. To keep it calm or distracted I take my meds and do schoolwork and work a job. Sometimes talk to people or listen to music.

3) What do you do to counter the extra emotional strain from all the crap these past 2 years?
For me it's more like a lifetime of crap...but like I said, I try to stay busy and distracted and take my meds when I need to. Trying to start fitting into society like a normal person lol.

4) Do you remember to eat healthily? What do you eat most days?
I only eat one meal a day, really, so don't worry so much about what I eat when I do. However, considering I drink 4-5 cups of coffee, I've switched to 0 calorie sweetener instead of sugar because that shit adds up.

5) How has your mental, physical and emotional health changed these past 2 years?
I'm definitely a lot more resilient than I expected. So try to give myself more credit than before, knowing that I can handle whatever comes my way.

Thanks for opening and the tag @Dante...

Wishing all a great Monday...or as great as it can be for being a Monday....

Travel Table
With (some) of the world unlocking, people are increasingly free to travel, so here is a table to talk about it:
1) Where have you been to recently?
Alas no where :(

2) Where would you like to go next?
At this point not picky...just somewhere warm with a beach where I could just sit under an umbrella, read a trashy novel, take a nap and a dip in the ocean and be brought snacks and beverages...

3) Tell us about your last holiday somewhere special (Not a "sit-on-arse-and-watch-TV" holiday)
Was a driving vacation up to the redwoods and British Columbia ,,,simply fabulous especially as we traveled the scenic route so going through the forests ... now at least 10 years ago

4) If you have pictures of anywhere you have been to, or desperately want to go to, feel free to share them but remember, no selfies, (Anonymity remember).
Alas no as before smart phone

5) What was your favourite trip ever, and what made it so special?
New Zealand...hiking up glacier, Christchurch, Auckland, swimming in the amazing ocean there

Health & Exercise Table

After 2 years of being stuck at home, what have we been doing to keep our minds and bodies in good condition?
1) Do you get much exercise? and if so, what do you do?
Alas my walking buddy has been busy with helping her daughter move so have turned into a morning sloth....

2) What do you do to keep your mind active?
Does work count(?)

3) What do you do to counter the extra emotional strain from all the crap these past 2 years?
Alas...eat and smoke...

4) Do you remember to eat healthily? What do you eat most days?
Thanks to my husband who cooks have healthy dinners...

5) How has your mental, physical and emotional health changed these past 2 years?
Been worse will admit between covid, steady decline of my 107 year old mother in law so she is now in assisted living and declining mentally,, death of my father and the subsequent challenges of dealing with his estate, two co-workers leaving where I work so I am now I am it so to speak,

The Secret Passion Table
The table to tell us all about that 1 topic you love but rarely get to talk about.
1) What is that one topic you could talk about for hours but rarely get to?
Museums...my former career

2) What really excites you about it?
Preserving, interpreting and sharing history, culture, and stories with people

3) What is your favourite part?
I think it was sharing the stories and relating to current events/challenges as we continue to need to learn from history to hopefully reduce making the same mistakes

4) Do you think its an acquired taste or something everyone would love if they gave it a chance?
I think many people view museums as stuffy boring elitist places as they were dragged their as children but I think with the right introduction and genuine enthusiasm of an interpreter or docent everyone would find some aspect of history or culture that they could come to love and become passionate about...

5) Make a joke specific to the topic, lets see your maths/art/dentistry/graphic-design/etc jokes.
Can't think of one at the moment

The table to tell us all about that 1 topic you love but rarely get to talk about.
1) What is that one topic you could talk about for hours but rarely get to?
The environment in our planet and how everything works on balance. Could not talk about it alone but a discussion while watching a documentary or something.
Our planet on Netflix is really good and other David Attenborough documentaries.

2) What really excites you about it?
Idk why I'm so fond about nature. I just feel something that lights up inside me whenever I see the beauty of Earth.

3) What is your favourite part?
When I get to know how important some species are to maintain the ecosystem.

4) Do you think its an acquired taste or something everyone would love if they gave it a chance?
I'm not sure but whenever I talk about it everyone just spaces out

5) Make a joke specific to the topic, lets see your maths/art/dentistry/graphic-design/etc jokes.

What did one ocean say to the other ocean?

Nothing, they just waved.

The Bar
A place for the not-so-chatty to just say hi and be present.
1) Say Hi
Wishing you all a great day and I hope y'all are okay.
2) Be present.

@Dante thank you for opening the café again and for inviting again!

If you're reading this I'm proud of the progress you've made today. (Whatever it may be)

With (some) of the world unlocking, people are increasingly free to travel, so here is a table to talk about it:
1) Where have you been to recently?
A holiday park not too far from where I live, it was my sons first ever trip so we didn’t want to travel too far.
2) Where would you like to go next?
I love the Lake District and I haven’t been in ages so it would be nice to go again.
3) Tell us about your last holiday somewhere special (Not a "sit-on-arse-and-watch-TV" holiday)
Berlin a few years ago to see the Christmas markets and drink gluhwein 😂
4) If you have pictures of anywhere you have been to, or desperately want to go to, feel free to share them but remember, no selfies, (Anonymity remember).

I went to Ibiza on my honeymoon 3 years ago and despite its party reputation, it’s one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.
5) What was your favourite trip ever, and what made it so special?
As well as my honeymoon in Ibiza, visiting Zakopane in Poland was an amazing trip. My family on my Dad’s side are Polish so it was brilliant to see the country they were from.

Aves, good to see other UK people on here, I assume it's mostly Americans. 🙂

My honeymoon was in San Francisco and then island hopping in Hawaii. Quite unusual for us English but they're probably fairly common places to visit if you live on the West Side. I've also done New York, Virginia, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine for work.

I've done Egypt, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand too but this is sounding like too much if a brag. I've not left the UK since 2013 (Malta,) these days I'm hardly well travelled.

So I have absolutely nothing to do today for the first time in weeks and now I don't knownwhat to do with myself LOL. With work and school, I'm used to staying busy now. You'd think I'd want a day off by now to just do nothing in particular, but I hate being in my head, so just listening to music at this point and trying to think of wtf to do with myself. Only thing would be maybe going to the gym and the store for more hair dye but I don't want to make the walk in the cold either lol.

Travel! My favourite subject. So much world to see and not enough time to see it.

1) Where have you been to recently?
We visited my daughter this weekend in Kent, UK. She works as a big cat keeper and was on site overnight this weekend so we went to stay with her to hear the lions roaring all night.

2) Where would you like to go next?
I'd really like to visit my brother in Singapore next year if covid allows. I haven't been for around 10 years as he comes here a lot but I'm feeling like a bad sister for not visiting.

3) Tell us about your last holiday somewhere special (Not a "sit-on-arse-and-watch-TV" holiday)
The last holiday I had was in September, I went to Zakynthos in Greece.

4) If you have pictures of anywhere you have been to, or desperately want to go to, feel free to share them but remember, no selfies, (Anonymity remember).
I went to Svalbard up in the Arctic circle a few years ago. We went snowmobiling, dog sledding (I broke my nose falling off of the sledge!) and saw the Northern Lights. Absolutely amazing place.
FB_IMG_1598168164667.jpg

5) What was your favourite trip ever, and what made it so special?
My favourite trip ever was a month long backpacking trip to Borneo with my kids. It had always been a dream of mine to see orangutans in the wild since I was a small child so it was a magical moment when we spotted the first one.

Hi @Spoonful_of_Sugar, yeah I must admit I haven’t encountered many U.K people on here either. I’m from the North too (North West to be exact).
I’ve never been to America or anywhere outside of Europe, I think I would like to but I’m not a great flyer so I prefer short flights.
I’ve done Amsterdam, Berlin, a few places in France, a couple of places in Spain and Greece and Poland too.
I must admit though, I love the countryside of the U.K especially Cumbria and there’s some lovely scenic areas where I live.

To hell and back

2) Where would you like to go next?
The bathroom

Was going to say India but that was part business where there were some matters that needed taken care. So I'd go with the one prior to that which was a cruise around Spain and Portugal

4) If you have pictures of anywhere you have been to, or desperately want to go to, feel free to share them but remember, no selfies, (Anonymity remember).

Travel Table
1) Where have you been to recently?
Poland, the UK and Italy in the past month. I got back from Italy yesterday.

2) Where would you like to go next?
Somewhere in the Southern hemisphere where it's currently +25°C. But with great company, I could go anywhere. :)

3) Tell us about your last holiday somewhere special (Not a "sit-on-arse-and-watch-TV" holiday)
I went to Florence, and visited Pisa and Siena as well. Italy is one of my favourite holiday destinations of all time. It is GORGEOUS, clean, the atmosphere is unlike any other, the cities are so cute and "natural", there is always plenty to visit and get fascinated by, the food and DESERTS obviously *dance4, the mamma mia cappuccinos! ♡

4) If you have pictures of anywhere you have been to, or desperately want to go to, feel free to share them but remember, no selfies, (Anonymity remember).
Italy last week. Only 5 pictures allowed, but I have thousands.
  1. Leaning Tower of Pisa (due to uneven settling of the foundations in the soft ground)
  2. Cathedral of Pisa (I recommend more than the Tower, and than any Cathedral in Florence)
  3. David (Michelangelo et co.), in marble (the whole museum was WOW)
  4. Siena
  5. Florence
1.jpeg 2.jpeg 3.jpeg 5.jpeg 6.jpeg

5) What was your favourite trip ever, and what made it so special?
Such a tough question, there are so many... Some trips I enjoyed more because of the company, others for what I visited and others because I'm in love with the country...
I loved everything about Italy (this last one was perhaps my favourite).
I have a lot of great memories from Poland, too (Warsaw just because it was emotional for me to learn about where my family comes from, and all the history...).
My first trip to Norway when I was 18 to see my family was pretty special (I went without my parents). All my trips when I lived in Sweden, and my day in Helsinki where I was basically 😍😍😍 for 7 hours.
Tunisia when I was a teen, because the culture is so different and I got to visit a lot of fascinating places.
My last trip to the UK was special because of the people I met there. ♡
Many more...

I've never been to Lodz, but Poland is a big country. Lots of wonderful places to see there, I wish the West knew more about it, they'd have lots of fun for cheaper prices. :P And yes, I've been quite privileged with a family who likes to travel, and I absolutely love it myself. I can't imagine sitting in my tiny country for longer than a few months. Only Europe though (plus Tunisia and Turkey), I've yet to go see other continents. *woohoo
