Since I posted this I felt like I should read it all, and it was fun :D

I cant help but point out some of my favourite answers:

Former coworker at a job I had about 15 years ago, she had been there 20 years I had been for maybe 2 and when she quit she claimed I was one of the reasons. I told her that other workers had been thanking me ever since. It was funny because other employees would come by and thank me for making the company a better place.
This is brutal and wonderful ^^

2) What is your go-to "brag" story? The story you tell to impress people?
I have almost 1,000 open tabs in my browser.
It appears you have beaten me, for I only have about 200 open.

1) When was the last time you got one over on a boss or parent? (If you dont have such a story, it can be about beating any person who considered themselves above you)Hastial
Guess would be my high school college counselor telling my parents and myself not to get our hopes us too high for college applications...then getting into the school of my choice early decision
I cant help but like this one, my sister received similar treatment to the point where they refused to help her even apply because "it would be a waste of their time". She now has a Biology and Forensics degree with 1st class Honours and works in DNA forensic analysis, I often think about visiting those teachers and slashing their tyres or something, I mean how dare any teacher not encourage a student to excel?

Also, a lot of people said English/British was their favourite accent....
*starswooo hooo! I win!

Thank you @Lane for the bunny photos, more bunnies are always great.

Thank you @Dante for opening interesting café and @Lane for inviting me.

1) When was the last time you got one over on a boss or parent? (If you dont have such a story, it can be about beating any person who considered themselves above you)
I don’t know. I always had a major problem with any kind of authority but luckily I never really had people above me. For those who think they are, I don’t mind their elusion unless they try to boss me around.

2) What is your go-to "brag" story? The story you tell to impress people?
I've never felt a need to impress people. If they don't notice me or don't see anything interesting in me and I had to 'win them over', it wouldn't have any value to me.
I also consider bragging one of the shitiest traits.

3) What is the nicest thing you ever did for someone that you dont normally tell people about?
I helped many people, I can’t choose the nicest one. I usually don’t talk around about any because I’d consider it bragging.

4) What is your strangest hobby/interest?
Passionately doing nothing.

5) Which is your favourite accent?
Caribbean English, Argentinian Spanish, Sicilian Italian

6) Which trend did you initially reject but ended up embracing later on?
Wearing a facial mask outside, then I figured my lungs like it when I go hiking early in the morning at 0ºC.

Happy birthday @Thauoy*bday

Ouch... I like to brag, but never about anything real, thats the inspiration behind question 3. I will happily brag about being able to memorise Pi to 50 DP or the time I won an argument with a sheep, but I never bring up anything real I did for family or friends unless I have a good reason, it feels like it would cheapen it, but bragging about what is already cheap is a favourite of mine :P Everyone has their stories of fun times and silly adventures right?

Shit *hiding i'm sorry, i didn't mean to offend you or anyone. But what you're saying I don't understand as bragging at all and I never saw it in any of your posts.
In my book bragging is fishing for praise and admiration and it's related to narcissism.

I'd like to hear about that argument with a sheep though.:D

My last boss was a good guy, so I didn't need to get one over on him. As far as my mom, we have a good enough relationship where I wouldn't need to do that. I don't have any stories that come to mind, but I just feel sorry for anyone who needs to look down on others so I don't waste my time getting back at them.

2) What is your go-to "brag" story? The story you tell to impress people?
I won the spelling bee in 5th grade and I was up against older kids too. I don't have much, but that's one thing I'm good at.

3) What is the nicest thing you ever did for someone that you dont normally tell people about?
I tend to think I do nice things on a regular enough basis. I don't look for praise so I don't really tell people, I just like to make people happy.

4) What is your strangest hobby/interest?
Probably watching true crime shows. lol

5) Which is your favourite accent?
Any accent really, even other Midwestern accents because they all sound different and I can generally guess where they are from.

6) Which trend did you initially reject but ended up embracing later on?
Maybe drinking coffee, I didn't like it until I was in my 20's at least.

I was on the Silver Duke of Edinburough's award expedition (not a big thing, just walk 30 miles or so, sounds easy, but try doing it as a teenager.) I was tired, and we had somehow found the only fucking mountain in England, I swear we were in the damned clouds and we were following this path and right in the centre of it was a sheep, we were tired and cold and I was feeling kinda silly so rather than walk around, I told the others to hold on, and went forward and bleated at it, doing the whole sheep noise thing "Baaaah" you know, then it bleated back, then I said "Baaah" again, it replied, then I did the same more forcefully, it bowed its head slightly and walked off the path. It was fucking hilarious and awesome at once! It was a back and forth and I WON!

See? Thats the kind of thing I was thinking of, gentle "Hey, did I tell you about the great thing I did/can do" stuff.

I think thats more of a tastes developing as you grow sort of thing.

P.s. fantastic avatar and I couldn't agree more. (In case Witty has changed it when you read this, it says "Tact is for people not witty enough to use sarcasm."

Yeah, I still have the trophy and I have my name on a plaque permanently :P I have a pic of myself holding the plaque too.

The funny thing is, I didn't even put the avatar there myself. It was one of the mods and they must know me well. lol

I can only think of an answer for one of the questions:
2) What is your go-to "brag" story? The story you tell to impress people?
When I was auditioning for my college orchestra in 2011, we just had to play any song that we felt would display our ability, plus the director would give us a few scales to play as well. But I was too lazy to actually prepare a piece, so I went in and just improvised my own piece on the spot. I got third chair viola, and the director liked what I had played.

I love me some English speaker speaking French. So cute!
Reminds me of when my family hosted a couple of French exchange students. We were about the same age, but they would tell me I sounded so adorable when I spoke French. I think I sounded more or less like a little kid. Haven't really spoken much French lately, but I imagine it would be similar now.
Their English was so much better than my French. I wish the US wasn't generally so crap at teaching world languages. The French students came to my school in the fall and were able to attend our classes, but we had wait until summer, after they had taken the baccalauréat, to go visit them in France because we wouldn't have been able to keep up with their classes in French.

Yeah there's obvious reasons why people would know English better than English speakers know any other language, it's not anyone's fault. I don't think our language courses are that great (I found Swedish courses in Sweden particularly efficient though), but there are way more opportunities to learn and hear English around us every day., and it's very unlikely not to need it at some point in your life.

But I think it's awesome when someone learns another language, I'm a huge fan of languages and the learning process myself. *stars And even if I find it "cute", I am no accent elitist by any means, I'm pro diversity in accents. ;)

If you ever want to get back to it, I strongly believe in watching French shows/movies, with subtitles if needed. Or dubbed English/American shows (cause let's be honest, French ones can suck, lol), that's what I did for German. Your brain learns so much while you're just relaxing and enjoying. :)

That's a very good point about more exposure to the language. When I was talking about the courses I was mostly addressing how the French students I knew had begun studying English at a far earlier level than when schools like the one I went to begin offering language courses. I know it's good to begin second language acquisition as early as possible, and my school waited until we were about 13 to start teaching languages. I know there are some programs now that are starting kids with languages (mostly Spanish) early, but I wish I would have had a chance myself to learn a second language at school before my teen years.

Thanks, that seems like great advice. For a while, I was doing that with some movies, and I'd gotten to a point where I was able to understand most of a film with French audio and French subtitles. I remember watching the movie 12 Monkeys that way. It's a little harder now that I don't have any TV/DVD player or CD drive on my computer and don't subscribe to any paid streaming services, but I could probably find something if I looked harder.

I tried learning a language once, My mum is Norwegian so it always felt like I should be able to speak it, and me, my sister and my brother in law all decided to learn it together, however, only a week after I started learning an annoying coworker started trying to force me to learn polish, he WOULD NOT STOP constantly trying to force me to repeat polish words and phrases over and over which completely put me off learning anything, I tried telling him I was already learning Norwegian but because I had just started I couldnt prove it to him that I knew any so he just kept on trying to force me to learn polish. I abandoned Norwegian after that.

haha Well, that's very unfortunate, I'm sorry he ruined languages for you. It's never too late if you ever want to pick it up again. ;) I find it helpful with depression and mental health, too.

!12 Monkeys, @Baywasp . . : ) Wow, I'm impressed if you got through that one on a foreign language~ I remember being given that as an option for a task, or project to dissect or analyze within the confines & contexts of the course: what was it called? Something in the Communication dept. related to - or referring to do w/ Persuasion, & argh? It wasn't media, persuasion, & argumentation (now i think i'm combining classes) guy who taught it was weird; he'd always say he wanted our works to reflecdt, or contain "...Rich! in provocative language. . ;)" and so it was littlbee bit about that. kind of related to advertising too, and the manipulation taht can ensue, through teh use of various means and measures --overall underneath the Comm Umbrella~! ;)
I think I was one of only two who took that option (the 12 monkeys!) ;) And i remember this one girl going next to me when he announced it, "What are we suposed to do?/ all go run out ot Blockbuster & rent it!! :D" ... I've tried learning japanese & korean through these measures but it has thus far proved futile - of ccourse, that's all i've done within the course of "study!" And in the case of something more like "film,' if its amovie in which I really, or truly enjoy -- then half the gtime ('i'm finidng my self not paying all that much attention to the dialogue in teh first place, as opposed to the cinematography, actors' acting, I guess~ ? ;) nonverbals, maybe! in other words . . : )

I'm particularly fond of, or have a soft spot in my heart for, when a Korean speaks Chinese; or conversely, a Chinese person speaks Korean (it's just so cute!) unless they're experts! then the charm or appeal sort of wears off, I promis e you I stole that from someone( eles~ ;)
