Only just picked up my invite to the Xmas thread. Thanks for inviting me.
Maybe I'm some 30 days to late, or 11 months to early for the next one, I can't decide on that atm.
Xmas is a funny old time of year, people are more friendly, they tolerate bad driving, they'll say Merry Christmas when you pass them, and once that is all over they'll start wishing you a Happy New Year.
All of course which are just words, words they feel they should say when they have no clue what they are on about.
It should be Xmas every day, not just for one day...
Families try and make an effort, kids are spoilt rotten and everyone stuffs themselves full of food and drink. All because some bloke died for our sins some 2'023 years ago.
I'm sure he would of been delighted to see people acting all nice cuz it's his birthday, and stuffing themselves with chocolates and Brandy in which all of his birthdays he was probably eating raw fish and drinking rain water.
Saying all this I like Xmas, it's the only day I get some peace without somebody around me going on in my ear about nothing but crap, stuff like, 'Energy prices are going up and how will we survive', or 'I think i've got Covid coming cuz so and so down the road has just had it' or, 'what's on the tv' blah blah blah blah blah.
Anyway I hope I haven't blighted the mood, I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year, but I can't guarantee any happiness whatsoever so I wont say it.
Instead I'll wish you a Merry Xmas for the one coming in 11 months time, I know it's a bit early, but I kind of turned up to this one a bit late
